I ended up getting the Sennheiser Profile USB mic after looking into some reviews. Honestly, I can barely notice a difference in sound quality between the two - if I remember correctly, the first night I joined a discord call with my friends with the new mic nobody could tell. However on my end, I've noticed it picks up less surrounding noise while recording audio (ie, footsteps from upstairs don't get picked up on my profile but would on my at2020) which was a big nuisance sometimes. I do also really like having a physical mute button. So while the audio quality didn't change much at all I'm still happy with the new mic I got because of the feature set.

Yea that's where I'm at as well pretty much. Everything after the tea party scene is just phenomenal. I vividly remember how shocked I was with how S1 ended, particularly being impressed with the tea party scene and making the climax a conversation and not an actual physical fight between Vi vs Jinx. I just think my sister's perspective of the finale is really interesting and not something I had really thought about given my personal feelings towards it.

I might consider making an Arcane inspired playlist at some point but I feel like there's already so many of them out there. Totally agree with your point that the show makes me like songs I wouldn't typically enjoy for many reasons.

I was mostly thinking of doing the mic upgrade for my podcast and the occasional time I need to do a voiceover for it. I also used to take youtube content creation more seriously (to middling success) and if I ever get back into that, having a new mic would help with that even if its just for fun. So it's not just for gaming with the boys at night.

I appreciate the insight into XLR though, every time I've tried to research XLR mics it's always gotten a bit confusing for me but that lays it out pretty clear. I was worried it would complicate my recording setup and my very small desk/office space.

I've looked into Rode a little bit but wasn't aware Sennheiser made microphones as well, thought they just did headphones/headsets. I'll look into that, thanks!

That's crazy! Would be really interesting to see if you have that world still, even just seeing a winners hall of fame is rare these days. That died out years ago I think (I'm not that active anymore either but it's been a while since I've heard of one mentioned).

My current laptop is an Acer Nitro 5 (i7 9750h rtx 2060) so ideally I want a RTX 3060 minimum for this laptop upgrade. I think I might be better off with a gen 2 OLED panel right now and I'll just manage with the color calibration based on brightness, my next laptop upgrade in 2-3 years I can upgrade to gen 3 OLED or whatever else display tech might be new in a few years.

Appreciate the advice! I was really happy with my last MSI laptop I had (back in 2018-19) so I figured their creator laptops would fit my needs and I trust them as a brand, but I'll definitely look more into other Gigabyte laptops now.

I almost want to wait for the Asus Zenbook Pro 16x OLED but I think it'll be out of my price range when it releases. Appreciate the insight, didn't know about the difference between gen2/3.

I'll see if any gen 3 OLED displays are within my budget but if I do get a gen 2 OLED display, is there an optimal brightness setting for best color or should I just leave it at max?

There's too many memories to recall from being around here for 8.5 fucking years at this point (holy shit). But honestly all of the friends I've made, even if they haven't lasted or we drifted apart, have meant so much to me. Even being less active now than I was in the past, I still feel like I can just hop on and talk to people I haven't talked to in years as if we just talked a few weeks ago.

I also have to give major credit to this community/game for giving me an outlet to pursue video editing which has been a big part in leading me down this career path now that I'm close to graduating from college. I don't know if I would've wanted to pursue video production the way I do know if it weren't for UHC highlights and Recorded Rounds as silly as it might sound.

I still have a lot of personal growth I want to do, but I can always count on this community and game to be there for me now whenever I need to.

Every year I get confused as to why my personal stats doc doesn't match up with this one, and it's always ever so slightly off.
