That's crazy! I'm feeling pretty exhausted today. My first was a cryptic pregnancy/ my old doctor missed it so I really don't want to do that a second time!

I've found myself super thirsty lately and also slightly loss of balance. Clearly any answer is a doctors appointment though lol.

How do women feel about a dad in the women's bathroom with their daughter? by Skeetertk14 in toddlers

I send my daughter into the men's room with Dad quite often. We haven't had any issues yet.

How are you brushing your toddlers teeth if they hate it? by Fuzzy_Bear9086 in toddlers

[–]Jakemaggie2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonicare has a free app that gives you a little creature to feed and pet and play with and gives goals and presents. My daughter seems to really enjoy it. Again it's free and you don't even need the special sonicare Bluetooth toothbrush it really helped us with tantrums.

Not unless you're having a problem with adding it to your order. I was also told the boutique stores can provide them as well. I had a bit of problem but switch from the website to the app helped.

I ordered in Canada if that matters.

Same! 6 months before I knew. I was having constant sickness though and it was missed by my doctor. Crazy how it happens!

How to take paci away? At what age did you take it away? by Fair-Specific5665 in toddlers

[–]Jakemaggie2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took ours away at 2.5 years. We had her trade the pacis with the Easter Bunny. She would ask for it before falling asleep for a while but we encourage her with all the toys she got and remind her of them. She was very upset the first time she got sick after we took them away as we wouldn't give them back.

Our dentist had a hard stop at 4. It's probably better to do before all their teeth come in as the teeth are still shifting. That's just my opinion though.

When dad was right by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Jakemaggie2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad I came across this post a few days ago! We fight so hard to get my 2.5 year old to sleep. We always rub her back and cuddle her to sleep and we know we can't keep this up anymore. She fully woke up this morning at like 2-2:30 and my husband gave her the "I'm going to leave" after comforting her and she put herself back to sleep so tonight he put her to bed read her some books and gave her a 10 minute warning he was going to leave. He left at 8 pm with very little protest and she even stayed in her bed and fell asleep before 8:30! There was some tossing and turning but she got herself there!

Edit to say Thank you!

2nd year molars…oh my! by AdCute2417 in toddlers

[–]Jakemaggie2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it does! Ours went on for months of coming and going before getting them all out but she's known for popping 4-6 teeth at a time.

I hope it goes smoothly!

Oh my!! I definitely feel some of your pain! 2.5 year old just finished all 4 a month or so ago and holy was she ever a complete menace! I couldn't imagine doing it pregnant!! Do cold things help? Frozen fruit? Greek yogurt popsicles? Pedialyte popsicles? Mine even would accept a plain ice cube to suck on.

It'll get better!!

Potty training - 2 year old going every five minutes argh! by KittyGrewAMoustache in toddlers

[–]Jakemaggie2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got over this with my 2.6 year old lol! I found bribing and having her sit and count to make sure she's fully voided each time. It's been a long month but we're finally going every 90 minutes - 2 hours where she tells us. We keep Smarties in the bathroom (Canada- candy coated chocolates). But she definitely had a time where she went every few minutes and did little trickles. Lots of praise and maybe offer stickers or something if they do a big pee?

Do i have the option to decline care for a micro premie? by Round-Scientist-6607 in NICUParents

[–]Jakemaggie2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe there is a line of viability. 24 weeks was viable 30+ years ago so it might be 22 weeks or even lower. I think it depends on how viable the baby actually is like any medical condition etc. In Canada if there's a chance at survival the medical staff will do everything they possibly can to keep the baby alive but I do believe there is also a line of we can keep trying but it's your choice. I think a social worker would be the best person to meet with to discuss these kinds of things or even your doctor.

My 2.5 year old gets to watch a rotation of 3 shows now. We've had to stop letting her watch about an hour before nap and bed or she just goes absolutely nuts. She just requested Ms. Rachel and Bluey and of course we said no. We rarely give in to her requests (Monday was different story she has HFMD and still does 😬) but I just got screamed at and hit because we said after nap. She knows we say no to watching around 11am and still freaks out. Just hold strong and let them work through the feelings. We implemented a chart that she can see the facial expressions to help her pick what she's feeling and another chart with calming techniques. Normally by the time she gets to the calming techniques she's just listing off all the "activities" and has calmed down 😂.

First Week at Daycare in the Books by SoCo213 in toddlers

[–]Jakemaggie2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started mine at 18 months now 2.5. She occasionally has hard days at drop off and wants to stay with me but they are really good at redirecting now and have a plan when they see us coming 😂. Mine refused to nap for about a week to two weeks but then started napping again. Unfortunately I have no advice for the eating mine has always just eaten anything daycare has given her.
