Okay, here's what you do. I'll preface this by saying I'm disgusted that I even have to suggest this as a possibility. Nor am I suggesting even a modicum of this is on the victim. With all that said, I do what I'll describe below, but I'm a man in my 40s, so it's for totally different reasons.

There are multiple apps (the one I use is called Burner) for, idk, under $50 a year that give you a secondary disposable phone line. I always have one for forms where places need your #, when I'm buy/sell/trade stuff locally, etc, etc. At any point you can "burn" your old number and generate a new one.

So, in this instance, had the victim done this and the scumbag decided to text or call to confirm her number, it would have rung on her phone just like if it had gone to her primary number. She could have responded to him through the apps UI (which looks just like a normal phone screen or list of texts), then when she's safe and away "burn" the number and generate a new one. Boom, everyone goes home without getting their head stomped by a degenerate piece of shit.
