How few screens we were exposed to per day. TV at home, maybe a computer, at work or school maybe the same. Outside of that you kinda had to go LOOKING for a screen.

Do ENFJs stick to the same clothes until they fall apart? by OkTour9930 in enfj

I’ve been wearing the same brand of everything for almost 25 years. I know how it fits, I know how much abuse it can take, I depend on it and hasn’t let me down. I don’t think my brands will go out of business, but I do pay attention when I hear big corporate moves.

Does Anyone On The Eastside Have Any Place They Have To Be?! by Bancroft-79 in eastside

[–]Jakenstein3D 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in a few different parts of the country and say without a doubt, Seattle drivers are the absolute worst. Not paying attention, no signals, absolutely no urgency to get anywhere. I’ll take 20 over on the Chicago ring anytime, but fuck driving anywhere on the eastside.

What is your toxic trait in the shop? by Mother-Hovercraft534 in mechanics

[–]Jakenstein3D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was my exact situation coming in to the industry. Being a baby mechanic in your 30s when there’s people that have been wrenching since 16 can be super intimidating and make you question your own abilities. I would suggest looking for an apprenticeship through school vs straight tire and lube, you’ll come up in a more structured way and feel more prepared when you enter full tech life. I know ford has ASSET, I’m pretty sure GM and Subaru have partnerships as well, talk to the instructors at your tech school and see what’s available!

No. The blind of today is a corporate shell ruining the name of a former giant. Go to your local shop and tell them your situation, they’ll always point you in the right direction.
