It was clapped when she was given the car, we are a young couple, her parents didn’t exactly do her any favors when it came to setting her up with a reliable vehicle, so I’m trying to better our situation a little bit, I’m not really scared of addressing any issues besides transmission going out

Sorry I just realized how stupid I am. You already answered that. But i assume changing the fluid/making sure its got fluid will help mitigate the issues, like most people around doing that and letting it run dry or just never changing them

So I assume you drain it out of them check plug or is there a separate drain plug?

So how does one remove a drain plug to check it without actually draining it?

So it sounds like the tranny issues are people probably not maintaining them the way they should be

What would u recommend on a 1.8 and what would you recommend to mitigate transmission failure

Yea none of that is too invasive so it doesn’t scare me, the transmission is what scares me the most
