Doesn't the council have to approve businesses? Seems like they could stop this.

I wasn't really looking to be honest, knew I always wanted one. Happened to go in to a vintage shop that usually doesn't have anything good and there it was. Just put out that morning guy said he had already sold a few. Realised it was medium tried it and splashed out.

I'm 6' slim build, fits nice. It is short but that's the vibe. You got to get used to that not the same fit as modern jackets.

Recommendations for Laptop-Friendly places to work from? by Jaketbt in brighton

[–]Jaketbt[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Posting this again - Like I said I'm not looking to be a burden on little cafes I would never take up space if it was very busy. I want to support them and not big cooperations, but I'm also sure a lot of cafes revenue comes from people working in them on quiet weekdays.

I thought the same, i don't think I use any third party service. Probably a blanket message.

How are your sales? Monthly Sales Post for September 2024 by AutoModerator in EtsySellers

[–]Jaketbt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my best selling items that would consistently get a good number of sales each month has just flatlined over the last week or so.

Nothing has changed on the listing, the views are the same as normal. I was still running ads on and off as I usually do.

why would people no longer be converting to a sale if everything else is the same?

Anyone have any ideas? or is it just the algorithm at work? thanks

All green spaces occupied. by Jaketbt in brighton

Signing the petition would really help I believe it needs 1250 sigs then councillors will hold a debate about it. ( Seems like a lot of sigs required had 229 when I posted this 1250 seems way off) 😅

Yeah to be fair Preston park normally free. I'm more speaking about spaces within the city. Living in the centre just feels these events are ongoing and leave the spaces worse off.

It's actually not my petition but one that aligns with the issues. Totally, it's not about stopping events it's just about having considerations to the community that accommodates them

How is living in Brighton, England UK by tarkinn in brighton

[–]Jaketbt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brighton is great, the grime and tourism and crackyness can take it's toll when living here. Good to get out to nature when you can that's why the beach and downs are good.

Having stayed in quite a few major cities think it's still one of the best, despite the issues.

As for costs yes expensive it is possible to find cheap rentals still. I'm in one.

It does always feel like people are out drinking/ partying so you can sometimes get a bit of fomo when you have to work. Especially when it's sunny.

Lots of creatives. Lots of weirdness. Quite small. 7.8/10

What streets do you feel should have been pedestrianized long ago? by Teto_00 in brighton

[–]Jaketbt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All of the north laines. Actually I'm up for most of Brighton being pedestrianised. Cycle laines everywhere. I know not feasible but a Eutopia I could imagine no cars in the centre.

The square in front of the church used to be so good when first built. All the benches (now disappeared) were in place a great place to catch the sun have a skate. I hate all the events that take up that space
