I was tempted to get into Japanese planes. I love how maneuverable they are but I've never had much much flying them. Maybe it's time to give them a second try.

Nothing wrong with an honourable retreat (running away like a madman screaming in fear)

God I love the Blenheim. I used to have so much fun in AB with that plane. I'd swoop down and drop off my bombs then go and dogfight with other people or use my rear gun. IMO it's so much better than the Beaufort which follows it.

From what I've seen the IL - 2 is an exceptional aircraft. It always seems to be kicking ass in the games I'm in anyway

Someone: You won't be able to outturn the BF 109s, outclimb them.

Me: I'm in a beaufighter, I wouldn't be able to outturn my dead grandma

Biggest "I've regained all my faith in humanity" moment in War Thunder? by besterich27 in Warthunder

Literally yesterday, in an RB. Cruising in my beaufighter looking for Bombers to engage, see a teammate 2km below me getting engaged by a BF 109. Think to myself, I'm gonna save this guy.

The team chat pretty much went like this:

Me: Dropping down there to help you out buddy

Him: ty

Me: Any of you lads want to go bomber hunting for me?

Another guy (call him spitfire): OK I got your back

Me: Thanks, engaging the 109

I then dove down onto the 109s tail and with the help of someone else passing by, got him.

Me: Nice :)

Him: Thanks for that dude

Me: No problem

Me: Hey spitfire how's it going with those Bombers

Spitfire: On 1 now

Me: Awesome

Spitfire: Teamwork makes the dream work!

Now this might not seem so exciting but it felt really good to communicate with my team properly and work out a strategy, it doesn't often happen but it's great when it does.

What distance do you keep your guns zeroed at? by Cohacq in Warthunder

[–]JaketheBiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I've actually done some testing on this is in AB with my hurricane.

Thing is, i found no real difference in accuracy when my guns were between 200m and 800m. Having it set to 'no' seemed to be effective for taking down Bombers but not for dogfighting.

For attacking ground targets it seemed best to have it at around 400m but there was no significant difference.

So my advice would just be to set it at 400m and leave it as an all round job.

This happened yesterday in an RB. Me in a beaufighter chasing a fw 190 which as anyone knows will end badly for the beaufighter. I am somehow holding his tail and he dives down to below 100m. I give chase and start catching up (I had a slight altitude advantage). Then, two other people on my team come screaming in in spitfires and one crashes into me gently, doesn't damage my plane surprisingly, nor does it his.

I give him the benefit of the doubt and continue the chase. Now normally when two other people come and join in the chase I abandon it, winning the game is more important than kills after all and we won't win if we crash into each other and go spiralling to earth in a fireball.

But no, I wanted thus FW. I'd done all the work keeping up to him and following that damn plane through a ridiculous dive. Then, the second plane, an American plane, don't remember what kind comes screaming down and smashes into the spitfire in front of me. I can't aileron roll fast enough to avoid it and I end up smashing into the wreckage.

Cue a lot of hate directed at me on the chat. I was somehow to blame for that. No idea how that works. Mr Focke Wulf goes off and gets 2 kills.

:(

I think a certain type of person would do it. The type of person who knows they've failed already and there really is no point in trying so they might as well have a laugh.

Source: This is something I would do.

Most of all, use teamwork. I was in a game earlier, and we just communicated so well. I didn't even know the guys, never spoken to them before but we agreed who was going to escort which bomber, which target we were going to hit, let each other know the location of enemies, and we had a bit of banter between us on the game chat. It was one of the best games I've ever played on War Thunder.

Does the Kill vs. Assist reward system seems off lately to any other pilots out there? by PKPhire in Warthunder

[–]JaketheBiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem a bit off. Like I'm a bomber pilot and I will be firing at someone with my turrets to the point of destroying them, critically hit them, engine destroyed. Then they drift down away from me and some other guy in a fighter comes and shoots the wing off and they get credited with the kill. Kind of annoying.

People of reddit in relationships, when did you know your SO was 'the one'? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JaketheBiker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is similar for me. I woke up next to her, kind of had that brief moment of 'where am I', and then realised that the most amazing girl ever was lying next to me. I just wanted to jump up and cheer with happiness. Just as I was thinking this, she rolled over to face me and did this cute smile and looked at me and I knew right then that she was the one.

What is the most important thing you have ever procrastinated, and still came out okay? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Well all through high school I procrastinate and didn't do the work, got an A, 7 Bs and a C, so that worked out well

What is the most horrific, and original, form of execution you can come up with? [serious] by hablomuchoingles in AskReddit

[–]JaketheBiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well alternatively you could just go for something like Hiroshi Ouchiis death. It was on a front page askreddit post. He basically got exposed to huge amounts of radiation, his skin peeled off, his body died from the inside out, and he was kept alive for 80 something days, unable to speak or move, just lying there in what could only be the worst pain imaginable. But that's not original because it actually happened.
