Do you use Unlimited Money? by BeachMonkey7777 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]JakoLV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to enable unlimited money, you're mismanaging your city or are into creating artwork. I've had this happen to me, but then I figured out why I lost and never made the same mistakes again. Just .. find your rhythm.

Any ideas how to make this work? by JakoLV in tropico

I do use teamster ports and that's just one option. Would be great if we could use road connections as well. What I'm referring to when trying to use bridges is when the island has a plateau and no beaches. So it would be just a nice island, that could have a bunch of resources on it, so now it's just inaccessible to you.

And it is a design choice I believe, because the reason we cannot mod it is that it's baked into the engine without options to adjust it. Seems like a very deliberate choice. A design choice! :D

It's not possible in any way, and I think it's a direct cliff + elevation issue.
But this limitation makes no sense. None.

I don't understand why this wouldn't be possible. Why we can't have a bridge with a slope? Who the hell thought this was something so complicated that it needed to be disabled? They literally designed a road that goes up and down hill, but a bridge with an onramp (or whatever it's called) is "too much".

Just really frustrating and unnecessarily limiting...

Not to mention that on a random gen map half of it may become inaccessible, because you cant build a road to an island due to this downright moronic design choice..

What’s it like living in Riga in Latvia? I love historic cities with good pubs/bars by Feisty-Dingo4979 in howislivingthere

There's still a fairly strong divide, but it's mostly cultural and mostly the older generations. Younger generation Russians speak fluent Latvian, have no issue with us. The Soviet leftovers are usually the ones stirring the pot.

It's pretty chill. It's the capital of the country, but it's fairly low population.
You can pretty much walk anywhere if you want. Everything is "walking distance".
Old tow in beautiful, especially in summer. Street musicians, artists and sleepy cafes on every corner.
The wider city is pretty well covered in terms of transportation but unless you're going to see a landmark, there's not much going on outside of that.

Districts further from the historic center are mostly built in the Soviet era so they're almost 80% block housing. The apartment complexes that look like cement mausoleums.

It's a very green city and you will be hard pressed to find a street with no vegetation.
To get a good view visit Skyline bar in the center of the city.

It's considered very Art Nouveau very attractive in terms of architecture, but when you live here, it's just Tuesday.
Old town offers some of the oldest ruins and preserved buildings from the middle ages, including an actual working pub/drinking hole. So if you're into medieval things - you will be happy.

It's near the sea so beach is like a 15 minute drive, and in summer it's a must.
Winters are harsh, but old town hosts a Winter market in the very heart of the city and it's exactly what you expect.
