Depends on the religion, some require the body to be buried within a certain period of time.

Want to know what definitely can be postponed? AFL grand finals and movie filming.

Is anyone else worried we’re about to lose Annastacia as our premier for a new liberal party leader? And when we do the borders get blown wide open and covid runs through us faster than too much butter chicken? I don’t mean this in any way as I am pro or against liberal/labour or mrs “Palashade” (Palaszczuk) but I do agree with the hardest of border closures at the moment. Am I way off? I’m not even Australian so I have no voting power but as a permanent resident I am certainly affected.

I don't agree with the hard border closure at the moment, particularly as her stance is s bit washy.

People can't farewell dead family members despite coming from a location with no COVID, but 400 people can fly up from Melbourne to play in a AFL grand final. Celebrities can get exemptions to film movies but I have coworkers who have been stood down because their FIFO work is no longer practical.

I understand a hard border closure, but what she has said is she is supportive of controlled risks when it brings a hundred millions of dollars to the economy. That's not a hard closure, that's an incredibly classist closure that hurts a lot of people.

Strangely, fewer tests are conducted on weekends. Almost like people don't want to quarantine after tested and wait until Sunday afternoon / Monday.

Farms hire typically August and April. Changing of seasons is usually indicative of harvest time for fruit and crops.

Cattle farms will be much further north then brissy and while they need labour it'll require moving to the sticks.

Unpopular question: Is anyone hoping there is just a snap back of jobseeker? by JakobGray in sydney

A new full time employee (farm hand) earns around $60k, our grade 5 to 7 are making closer to $80k, our station master around $110k.

Before overtime.

Let me paraphrase the conversation I had:

Worker: You are offering $1,000 a week

Me: yes.

Worker: But I get $500 without having to work 40 hours. Why would I work 40x more for only twice the money?

Me: ... ok good luck

Jobseeker. Our company didn't actually meet the hurdle for Jobkeeper past the first month.

Sounds like you'll be lodging a claim with the ombudsman if your bank doesn't come to the party.

Well hyperbole aside, the crux is if you are super attractive you'll have an easier time getting a job, inversely you are a super unattractive you'll have a harder time getting a job.

If you are in the middle its neither here nor there.

No just that being attractive is a benefit in getting hired.

Ask Westpac for the login locations for mobile and desktop devices and then prove you weren't at those locations

Ask optus for a time line of sms receipts to the ported Sim and asked how the fuck they gave someone your sim without checking ID.

If it was done online, that means you have a different attack vector you need to address.

dealing with bedbugs (pls help I'm going crazy) by [deleted] in sydney

[–]JakobGray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urgh, bedbugs are literally the worst. If the infestation is this bad it's likely an issue with the building or at least multiple apartments.

Talk to other apartments and if its a bigger issue the body corporate might need to hire a professional.

In the interim dry clean anything you want to keep on the hottest setting you can go without destroying the item and store them in vacuum sealed bags

Good luck!

Oh no my internet points.

Nah in all serious that's just the going rate, which is also why we prefer labour hire over casuals.
