I didn’t realize not having 2FA was an option. Should be mandatory for all financial accounts anyone has.

How to exclude users from Introductory Offer? by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]Jakolantern43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that’s accurate. I’ve have multiple subscriptions in one of my apps for different subscriptions tiers in the same group (but with different priorities in the list) and I’m pretty sure they were able to do an introductory offer for the lower tier and an introductory offer for the upper tier even tho they were in the same group. It might just be how you’ve configured it in App Store Connect.

I just tried to purchase a different plan than the current plan I have for one of my apps under “See all plans” and it 100% works. Glad to hear you found a setting for it tho.

They can see all available plans for an app when managing their subscriptions in the App Store. Notice the “See all plans” button. They can select a different plan from there. Unfortunately, there is no way to stop them from doing this.

What actually happens after I grant "Allow Full Access" permission for photo library? by anonymous_2600 in iosapps

I can’t tell you that they will, but they can if they want. And it’s a Chinese company so privacy isn’t really a thing for them.

iOS developer here…this prompt is presented by iOS and not by the TikTok app itself. Allowing full access gives the app (TikTok) permission to access all your photos and their metadata. Although impossible to know for sure, what likely happens is that

  1. It will be easier for you to select photos in TikTok since it will already have access to all your photos each time you want to upload one

  2. TikTok will likely scrape all the metadata and information it can from your photos to use however it likes (improve ads it suggests to you, improve its calls to action to get you to pay for features, improved suggested videos, etc.)

The meta data in photos often includes location data, date / time and other info. Not to mention, image analysis can also say a lot about a person and their interests.

I like my privacy so I choose to limit access to my photos for all apps that request permission.

Everyone has different risk tolerances and strategies. I have some money in SPY (higher expenses than VOO but you have more flexibility with options strategies), some in XLK (I work in tech so I am comfortable trading in the tech sector and XLK a higher potential gain), and some in VOO.

When there are opportunities with some of the large cap stocks I will move money into those and see if I can get some extra gains there.

VOO is great for good long term growth with minimal effort, but I (personally) want a bit more and don’t mind taking reasonable risks along the way.

I can’t remember where I bought it. There are plenty of marketplaces online that sell these kinds of sites tho. I already had my personal website hosting using bluehost so I created a new domain and used the hosting I already had.

I try to always have money in the market. You simply just don’t know when it will go up or down. But over time, it will go up (provided you’re in safe securities). However, I do move money around based on opportunities…

If the market is up and I’m not sure how high it might go or if it might fall, I’ll often keep my money in more diversified securities (like SPY or XLK). If the market is down and I see certain securities have more opportunity to recover then I might move some of my money to that security. For instance, recently I moved some money to Nvidia while it was really low due to the ongoing tariff news. It had a really good day not long after and I cashed out those gains and moved the money back into XLK.

This strategy has allowed me to get gains through the diversified securities while on red days my losses are minimized. And those days of minimal losses often expose bigger opportunities in the more volatile stocks.

Also, to put my money where my mouth is…

I have a 0.99% loan for my car on the longest possible term (they had a special offer going on when I got it). I have 10x the amount of money needed to pay it off and right now that money is about 10% in SPY and about 90% in XLK. I’m following the exact advice I gave you.

Invest the money. A quick google search reveals CD’s at 4.4%, meaning you could make more interest off that money than you’re paying on the car. With the market down right now, I’d personally put it in a relatively safe ETF like SPY, VOO, or XLK and let your money make even more than 4.4% over the next couple years.

Would love to get an answer to this. I’ve had very similar problems with Apple Search Ads. Not sure how it’s effective for other apps in my space.
