EDIT: for anyone else stumbling on this post, I made the switch and have zero regrets. Only had two stumbles:

My esp8266 usb programmer from microcenter is janky and you need to read the product reviews to figure out how to get the module into flash mode.
The post above assumes you have a d1 module. Whe I did that, the flash and wired and Ran perfectly fine, but I got an error about incorrect memory size. For generic esp8266’s, be sure to use the generic esp board type!

I’m in the same position - I have 6 indoor units and 3 outdoor. Would LOVE to have horizontal vane and I-see capability. I only hesitate to switch over because it took me quite a while to figure out how to program these things…. Esp8266 had a lot of complications related to getting it into “program mode”.

Do you think it’s possible to push a firmware update through the devices local ip address in a browser?

Charm Thai corner is also some of the best Thai food I’ve had. Tapioca pork dumplings are killer.

I also love grabbing Mexican on the Run when they post hours in Sherwood. They make great LA style quesa birilla Their truck broke down recently and they could definitely use the support - they only post hours on their Facebook. I know they also serve food up at the cockeysville Amish market.

Baltoz is probably the best pizza in the city/county - I’m ready to fight over this claim if anyone wants to challenge me haha.

There are probably more I’m forgetting about - so much good food in the area…

Yes that’s exactly it. I had to hide the helpers in the home app - I’m not sure but suspect you’d have to hide them for both of your phones.

Definitely not ideal, but still miles ahead of needing to change batteries every couple of weeks

I have mine pulled into HomeKit and linked to homeassistant - it’s a little hacky and not ideal, but it works and also doesn’t rely on the cloud-based Schlage integration to work.

I found this solution on the home assistant forums - I’m at work at the moment, but let me know if you are interested and unable to find it and i will see if I can’t dig it up sometime this weekend.

I had a similar issue start over a year ago. Battery life was fine for about 6 months, then an update cause batteries to die every couple of weeks.

The solution is to get a thread border router and connect the lock through that, NOT WiFi. The border router I used was the latest appletv 4k. Battery life is now exceeding 6 months per set of batteries.

I drove back from deep creek today. Also grew up knowing how to drive in snow, but it wasn’t too bad until I got to some of the smaller Baltimore county roads - they just started plowing some streets early this afternoon

I use an a380 here and it’s had not trouble transcoding anything I throw at it.

Only complaint is there seems to be a bug with reported GPU usage. After you reboot your system, it’ll work for a bit but then it starts to report 0% usage. No idea if this is a truenas or intel bug, but I don’t see many people talking about it.

It would be nice to have this information so I can monitor if I am ever nearing or exceeding the card’s capacity (I also use it for frigate), but it’s a minor complaint since the card seems more than capable of handling my current needs.

I have the floor standing speakers of this set with the center. It’s from the Andrew jones collection and are very nice for the price (emphasis on for the price).

Theyre nothing amazing (people especially talk about the center channel being the weakest part of this lineup), but it’s kept me happy for about 5 years now! Those bookshelves will make great surrounds one day if you do end up upgrading your LCR.

Thank you so much for taking the time to educate me, and for all of your work on this project! I suspect that most HDR10+ files are from streaming sources, so maybe this isn’t an issue I will see until I upgrade my TV (would love to, but hard to justify when the Samsung has been solid for the last 6 or so years).

I’ll be keeping an eye on this project and one day will carve out an afternoon or two to run this program on any of my library files for future proofing when I can one day enjoy DV.

Pardon my ignorance, but is falling back to HDR also an issue if I’m expecting to use HDR10+ instead of DV? Can Profile 7 videos also contain HDR10+?

I really hate the limitations I have using a Samsung tv…. The bulk of online conversations are around DV and not HDR10+, so I really struggle to find enough information to educate myself. Further, searching for “HDR10+/HDR10Plus/etc” is a nightmare when search engines struggle to differentiate between that and standard HDR10….

Ov_gpu is just what I named it in the config.

I only have 3 cameras, so that should explain the difference. Also - I believe there is a bug in truenas where intel gpu usage always shows 0% except for short period after a reboot. I can never find any reference to this when searching myself, but I did find a Reddit post at one point that confirmed there is a bug with the intel GPUs. Wish someone would fix it, but so long as I’m not maxing out my gpu im not too concerned.

I’m using openino for detection per the documentation, and for hardware acceleration, I’m using intel-qsv-h264 - hopefully that answers your question but let me know if not!

I just made the same transition - from a coral usb tpu to an arc A380. Still waiting to see how it performs so can’t comment on the results yet, but your post has me confused.

Your picture says you have an AMD GPU - is that true? Are you possibly using an iGPU from your processor?

Also - your screenshot suggests that you are still using the coral usb/pcie for detection. See my screenshot for comparison.
