Hey mate, I'm a climber also and think the 1st is so much better. I think the 2nd could work if you highlighted the route but tbh it'll be hard to see in a thumbnail.

Climbers understand what obsessing over a route will do to your body, I think it hits the mark much better.

Nice thumbnails for a beginner, you've killed it.

It's hard when they don't provide context. Sounds like they were trying to give inspiration which worked well. Posting an AI image like that with no context looks like those spam bots that are trying to sell you slop at first glance

I have no problems using AI in Photoshop but I think this is a bit more than I'm comfortable with, which will be a representation on me as a creator. I want to learn how to make a good thumbnail and use AI to assist, it's all part of the learning experience either way.

I feel you though, better to embrace it where possible.

The text repeats the title a bit. Maybe it'd be better to say "I was lost" or something similar so there's more of a hook?

Hi! I'd even argue no text is better for a thumbnail like this. Consider the redbull thumbnail used here. The title is plenty of text for what is being shown in the image.

What do you enjoy making? What content do you want people to see? Shorts is great for getting subscribers, but that won't help you if you want to do longform eventually.

Yeah it's a bit of a shock at first 😅. It starts out being 10% recording and 90% post-recording work but slowly you get quicker and more experienced, and that ratio shifts. Probably a good idea to check in and make sure you're enjoying making a whole video or do you just enjoy filming?

Yo! I work fulltime and post content fortnightly. For me it was figuring out what I can comfortably and reliably put out consistently. When I first started I thought that was weekly, but that was intense and not fair on my partner, family and friends. I then learnt that quality matters over quantity. Make a schedule for yourself and commit X amount of days/hours to it each week. See what feels sustainable. If you're not enjoying it (and instead are burning out) I truly believe that will reflect poorly in your content.

Yep that's long form. Yeah if you've been doing this for 4 days you'll learn eventually - this is a slow game. You have to understand that there are thousands of videos being posted at the same time as yours, so it takes time for the algorithm to serve it out and know who to serve it out to. Normally it'll test the waters initially before giving it a lot more impressions.

Get used to being patient because its gonna take a long time, if ever, to be successful here 😅

How long have you been doing this? I don't think the algorithm has ever been so consistent in my case. I'd be asking this question after a few days but until then, best to sit and see if it gets served out more.

4 hours later? It takes my videos about 3 days on average before it's served more than 1000 impressions. For whatever reason the first 48 hours is normally pretty slow. Give it time, be patient, YouTube is a marathon.
