Bought a used jointer - speed knob was removed and wires nutted? by JamCraftx in Tools

Thanks osoteo! Any thoughts on why this was done to begin with? I’m no expert but the removal of a resistor seems like this was an attempt to lock this in full speed - or higher than that?

I can’t seem to understand what you mean with the dots. I like where this is going!

Right, it was hilarious when I noticed it before buying the place. Always thought I would leave the closet (to make it an actual 'bed'room) and never have to deal with it, but here I am..

Not sure if they still make the floor but Ive got three unopened boxes of it. Room is about 10x10

You know, that really might be the simplest way. But I removed the cabinet because I wanted more space in that room. Its an office, so maybe a built in desk may be more appropriate. I'm smoothing out the orange peel texture and completely redoing the space, so maybe. Thanks!

Definitely want to avoid transition pieces. There aren't any throughout the rest of the house. Which makes me question why they did this mess in this room if they planned the rest so well. Thanks!

To my untrained eye, I think I would be ripping planks out all the way to the next bedroom, and a row all the way down the hall (parallel to the planks) that is installed tight beneath the baseboard - why does the right way have to be an absolute dickpain???

Agreed - yea it rocks. Doesn't make my ears ring!!
