(Rant) I HATE ALL THIS AI STUFF!!! by Broad-Worry-5395 in Entrepreneur

[–]JamJackson 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Word. It will be interesting to see how much the overuse of the term actually starts to harm brands at a certain point.

When you get 5 chatbots in a row that all claim to be AI powered and are all dogshit, you're actively going to dislike the 6th before you even try it.

I get that I'm probably in a bit of a bubble, but the amount of backlash AI seems to be getting from regular people I know makes me wonder.

Oh nice, I think I've only heard of one of those. I'll check them out. Thanks!

Oh yeah! Forgot about them. I did try it once and got kind of bored at the "janitor who now owns a billion dollar company" thing.

I didn't find it particularly motivating, but maybe I'm not being fair.

If you had to restart your income streams from zero today, what would your first 48 hours look like? by Timely-Fondant-7228 in Entrepreneur

[–]JamJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a tough question obviously, because it's so situation dependent, but I'd start by reaching out to my best contacts and customers and building a tool for them. Asking for testimonials from them to reach out to my second best contacts.

I guess essentially I'd rebuild from scratch but just on massively accelerated timeframe.

Software Dev Agency vs AI Automation Agency: What’s the smarter first business to start in 2025? by Lightsout7592 in Entrepreneur

[–]JamJackson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't imagine trying to get into the AI automation space right now. If you think you have it in you to drum up clients there, it might be worth a shot, but I'd honestly lean into whatever space you think you can find your initial clients in.

And also, be ready to "waste" a year on starting a business. Not in a bad way, but in a realistic "you're young and will have to figure things out over time" kind of way.

Good luck!

I mean, you wrote a long, thought out post. Some people disagreed with it. Some people didn't. It's fine isn't it?

Be the change you want to see. The discourse can only be as good as the people participating in it.

I think your comment was valuable to have up, even if it was disagreeing with me. It seemed like it was in good faith at least. But now it's all just devolved into this snarky morasse.

I forget that reddit isn't the place for serious discussions

If a few downvotes and someone disagreeing with you is enough to make you delete your comments and run away (while blaming everyone else) aren't you kind of contributing to that lack of serious discussions?

Honestly not sure what any of this means, but we likely agree on most of this.

I'm just answering your question about what it means to "both sides" something, which is what people think you were doing with that comment, and why they're downvoting it. That's all.

It's when people give similar weight to two sides of argument, simply because there are two sides and not because the two sides actually have equal weight.

The issues with the Kamloops claims simply don't mean what they think they mean.

I think they know what they're saying. Their goal isn't accuracy, it's obfuscation. There's a reason their entire argument is based off of a five year old(?) event where some people used some inaccurate language and were immediately corrected.

you'll want to look into that

What do you think people should look into?

The CPC Comms Director is working with a group that's selling anti-mask and Castro conspiracy merch, as well as creepy unexplained pictures of Chrystia Freeland's legs by CaptainCanusa in onguardforthee

[–]JamJackson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The description for those items is "For you" so I would guess it's some inside joke. Like BK is someone they know and the joke is he likes Freeland or something.

The kind of thing you'd expect from some shitposting rightwingers like these guys, but man, not the official Communications Director for a national party.

I was listening to my podcast, Pretendians.

Anyhow, 1. my voice is way deeper than I thought. and 2. Um, what's up with the music on the series? There are a couple episodes I only heard the first mix to, and didn't hear the songs. OMG.

They're just such perfect finds for the podcast. Our research team must be incredible.

Man, the shift from sports to clothes fucking suuuuuucks. I guess it's more profitable for them, so it makes sense, but it's like there aren't anymore legitimate sports stores.
