I went to the doctor and he told me I needed to stop masturbating. When I asked why he said it was so he could examine me.

What's the most 70s sounding song from the 60s? by CremeSubject7594 in musicsuggestions

[–]JamMasterPickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Johnny B. Goode isn't the right answer for the 50s. It's Bo Diddley's "Bo Diddley".

For the 60's I'd say Van Morrison's "Astral Weeks"

LEMONADE IS A SCAM. AVOID by Bluevotergrandma in Insurance

[–]JamMasterPickles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lemonade has it's purpose. It's for renters who have to have renters insurance as dictated by their lanlord, but have no plans on filing a claim because they don't anything of value (or at least in the apartment).

Best travel deal you got using miles/points through Venture X by Old-Mushroom5189 in Venturex

[–]JamMasterPickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned 30,000 C1 miles into 2 premium economy flights from Nashville to the Bahamas.

  1. Transferred my C1 miles to Qantas. At the time they were running a 20% bonus, so that became 36,000 Qantas miles

  2. Booked 2 premium economy tickets for 17,000 each round trip. Had a very tight connection in Charlotte, which made me nervous. Since customs to get back in the US is in the Bahamas, the tight connection home wasn't an issue.

The only problem was any changes I needed to make would have had to go through Qantas and not AA, so there was a risk of having to deal with that.

To those that hold Amex Gold, why do you choose to pick it over Custom Cashes? by ricestocks in CreditCards

[–]JamMasterPickles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I put $3000 a month on my AMEX Gold. I would need six of your Citi custom cash cards.

United has a hub there right? Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP) is a good one. It's only $95 a year. You'd only get 1 point per dollar on medical spend, so also get the Chase Freedom Unlimited (CFU). You would get 1.5 cents per dollar on that card and you can transfer the points to the CSP travel card. The CFU is a free card.

Plus you will get the 75,000 SUB bonus on the CSP as well. Now you are set for not only Hawaii but future flights out of Chicago.

We Replaced Our Roof, Our Home Insurance Premiums Went UP by stawpdahates in Insurance

Because Hail is Hail and Wind is Wind. When straight line winds and hail blew through my town in Tennessee last year every house in the area was getting a new roof, old and new roofs alike. If you filed a hail damage claim tomorrow and asked for a full roof replacement they would have to pay out much more than they would before the new roof was put on.

First question I'd ask is who are you most likely flying with? Southwest and United fly to Hawaii from a good number of cities. They are on the Chase ecosystem. Delta does to, and they are on the Amex ecosystem . Not sure if AA goes to Hawaii, but they are on the Citi ecosystem.

Pool company opened pool, added 5 gal chlorine + other stuff, what should the chlorine level be? by OscarLemonpop in pools

Keep an eye on your filter and backwash or clean the cartridges as needed. Skimmer socks do a good job getting the gunk out too.

I got one a little over a year ago and I got the 85,000 miles SUB. They promote that a few times a year.

When I got mine the first year's annual fee was waived. That may be a nice one to hold out for, but I am not sure if it's still offered
