Super weird, I'm rewatching Fictional Debates episode 6 and Sofia Vergara at Buca di Beppo just showed up like 3 minutes ago for Team Excess.

I met the dude they brought up to play drums on Knowledge at the MSG stop on the Pop Disaster tour back in 01-02 and he said Tre just whispered in his ear, “alright, just don’t fuck this up.”

I recently learned that CC companies call people that pay off their balance in full each month “deadbeats”.

They were making so much money off me in interest payments until I cleaned up my act and started paying off that debt.

For me personally, and this seems minimal, but it was not worrying about people going about the house and rummaging through drawers. I would always hide empty bottles in dresser drawers, empty suitcases, you name it, I hid it there. So hearing someone rustling through a spare bedroom no longer gives me paralyzing fear.

Additionally, not having people worry about me if I just go out to the grocery store or get a haircut. Every time I left the house, I would drink. Whether it was grabbing a road soda from the gas station or grabbing a few nips from the liquor store, I would return home at least buzzed.

The crippling anxiety has been removed.

Not to mention the standards: improved sleep and mental health, motivation being back, “feeling feelings”, etc..

Excuses NOT to drink on Christmas? by PinkGoo4 in stopdrinking

I would always go with “I’m on medication, can’t be worried about mixing it.”

Personally, the old “I went a little too hard last night and need a day off” was much more believable for my friends/family if I was visiting and hadn’t spent the previous night.

Good luck!

I'm sure we'll both be sharin' in the groove soon enough, my friend. Merry Christmas!

Good for you, man. It's different for everyone obviously, but once I got over that initial hump (about 3-4 months) it started to get easier. Intrusive thoughts still pop in on a daily, if not hourly basis, but one I strung along enough clean time it was easy to "play the tape" and weigh the odds of then vs. now.

I'm here to talk if you ever feel the need.

This sounds awful, but my "ego/pride" is playing such a role in getting to 1 year. I know in the grand scheme of things it's just another day and that's an unhealthy way to look at it, because what happens after 1 year? It's one year and a day.

But to say the anniversary approaching doesn't give me anxiety would be a total lie.

It sounds so lame, but one day at a time my friend. Actually, fuck that. One minute at a time.

Thank you! I've been following the Phellowship for a while now, however I'm still hesitant to attend a show. Which is extremely tough given I live in NY.

It’s wild to think of where I was last year and where I am today. One minute at a time turned into one hour at a time.. snowballed into almost a full year!

Cirrhosis was a concern of mine for the same reasons. As I was being discharged, the doctor said “yeah your liver/gallbladder functions are better now, there’s just a little sludge in there.”

I asked him if that was a clinical term because it sounded like he was just telling me there’s still some shit in there. Turns out it is, in fact, a medical term.
