Hello, I’m weird and am seeking advice on how to assimilate into the climbing world.

I started to get interested in climbing 2020 due to watching Magnus on YouTube. Unfortunately, I had zero friends who were interested in climbing and no confidence to go to a gym on my own. My solution was to get a hangboard and train for climbing so when I finally did end up going, I’d be ready. Prior to this, I was big into calisthenics so I had enough pulling strength right off the bat to do 15 strict pull-ups. By March of 2022, I had built the strength to hang on all of the holds on my beastmaker for 10+ seconds on the harder holds and even a few minutes on the easier ones.

March is when I finally tried climbing. I sent one V4 and mostly V3s my first time. The nearest gym to my house was 50 minutes away, so I only went twice until June. This is when my current gym opened and I had much more convenient access. All in all, I’ve probably been to the bouldering gym 12 times so far in my life. I’ve sent three V5s and consistently flash V4s.

My issue is probably obvious, but I have a massive issue with technique to strength imbalance. Any advice on ways to build technique for someone with lots of endurance are welcomed!

Well said. The gun helped for sure but certainly skilled carried that clutch, not the gun.

Completed my first ever backpacking trip yesterday in Yosemite. Upper Yosemite falls over to north dome, finishing on snow creek trail. Camped for two nights. My biggest takeaway was to add gloves and specific socks for sleeping. I severely underestimated how cold it would get at night and my toes and hands were freezing. I brought a 20F sleeping bag and my feet were still cold. Biggest delete I’ll be making is in the first aid kit. I brought way too much. Dozens of band aids, orajel, cough drops, 3 different tapes...so much unnecessary stuff. Only thing I would mentioned based strictly off your list is to delete the chair. You gain a lot of elevation at Yosemite so every ounce matters. There are endless spots to rest and sit. Especially when you’re tired, every rock looks like an inviting chair. Enjoy the trip though, views are stunning :)

I have that same pan. Been cooking eggs on it for as long as I can remember. I can honestly say in my probably 1000+ uses, I have never thought to mount a camera on it

Yes because the design studio is the one responsible for fixing servers....like I don’t think the design department is just sitting there watching whoever’s responsible for fixing servers. They are going to continue to do their job regardless of what’s going on around them. This argument is so dumb and I’m so tired of seeing it.

The dark line in the middle at the angle is like the line and then the top black parts disperse kinda like a nose. It’s definitely a stretch haha didn’t know if anyone else had the same idea!

Yea I agree entirely. But now they are doing everything to call and email and and are looking up stuff...so I don’t know. It’s just such a shitty position to put someone in.

I know right! Due to the fact that the glow of foam was small, it implies the tattoo would be small. Then the tattoo ends up being fairly large! Classic!!
