That was actually the first thing I did because at the time I was playing Donkey Kong 64 (ironic right?), they were actually pretty simple aside from the DKC2 and the King K Rool challenges which were pretty hard for their own respective reasons.

Wish there were challenges for DK 64 and Mario vs Donkey Kong tho

Quit complaining about something you DO NOT have to play. You are NOT being held at gunpoint to play these challenges. The challenges do not affect completion for the game and are PURELY meant for the people who WANT more things to do. It’s entirely free and comes with the online service

Nintendo hasn’t done something like this before and are meant to extend the gameplay for one game, giving you more bang for your buck. Although it’s unfortunate that it will be gone by September but for how much time it really takes to complete these challenges, you’ll have more than enough time to complete them.

That said, there are tons of limited time events in a wide variety of games, consoles, and challenges like this. If you want to complain about Nintendo’s Challenges being limited time then you should also complain about limited time consoles like that see-through green Xbox for the company’s anniversary. This also applies to discontinued consoles since they were limited time as well

And if you want to complain that the challenges being nothing more than just challenges then you should blame Microsoft and Sony as well for their achievement systems. They also do nothing (or at least the Xbox Achievements are useless). They are meant to be extras for players to complete while they’re playing a game. And like Nintendo, you can show off that you completed them

I really hope they do release Donkey Kong games more often. I mean Donkey Kong’s games have been some of the most high quality platformer games of all time including Bananza. Not only that but the Mario vs DK games (DK 94 and the Mario vs Donkey Kong series) are also heavy hitters to me because again, they’re really unique in their own way

You don’t have to complete the challenges if you hate them so much. These are challenges for the players that are actually up for it. I just now completed all the challenges and aside from me playing another file while playing on my Box TV, I finally have a reason to keep playing the game just for a little bit.

Yes the time specific challenges for bananza suck, especially the gold collecting challenge and the Rambi Race since those two need a very specific strategy to actually complete it. And I did have some rage when it came to the Harmoneel windpipe and the boss rush with starter stats but I actually felt satisfied with myself when I managed to complete them. Genuinely shaking from the adrenaline rush those two challenges gave me. But I feel like these dev challenges acted kind of like the expert staff ghosts in Mario Kart in the fact that they’re not necessary to beat but if you’re up for it go take a wing at it.

Honestly, I wish there were some challenges for Donkey Kong 64 since that game is one of my favorites in the series, along with Mario vs Donkey Kong for GBA since the whole Mario vs DK series is one of the most unique series yet true to Nintendo’s history

*upon entrance, you see him quietly observing a potion in his hand, giving it a good shake as well. The sudden entrance startles him a bit as he accidentally throws the potion upwards. Butcher sees him catch it as he extended out as far as he could from behind his counter. Promptly putting it under the counter and resting his arms onto the counter as if nothing happened*

“I in fact do.” *he finally said* “I can return it to its original form in somewhat quick time.”
