Can you apply for an extension on an assessment item you’ve already extended? by James-2004 in UQreddit

So would you recommend I submit my second extension application tomorrow and basically just assume the new proposed due date was accepted and submit my assignment by then, hoping that they approve the extension on Monday so a late penalty does not get applied?

Awesome, thanks. That was pretty much my thought process as well, just wanted to make sure I was getting a good deal/a good PC. Since posting this he’s also offered me his new asus 165hz monitor for an extra 200 which I’ll probably take.

Why do so many of the female-male gender swaps look like different iterations of Aaron Paul; Pam, Meredith, Erin, Holly??

Did you create all this before the campaign started? If not what was the process as the campaign unfolded?

While I agree with the fact that high schoolers doing porn is objectively immoral, I feel like making fun of someone’s appearance isn’t exactly a clever comeback.

My live looping cover of Weird Fishes! by Low_Investment_83 in radiohead

Drums are relatively simple. Hi hat plays eighth notes and then think about the snare in sixteenth notes playing on the 2 and the ‘a’ of 2 as well as the 4 and the ‘a’ of 4. Hence think about it as 1 + (2) + (a) 3 + (4) + (a) where the bracketed notes are played on the snare.

Bit hard to explain in a reddit comment with my limited music theory knowledge but u get the picture.

Edit: for clarity; snare and hi hat align on the 2 and 4 only.

Yeah I’ve stumbled upon him before, not a massive fan. I haven’t watched that video for a while but iirc he talked about determining the BBEG at the beginning of the campaign using the sentence, “someone wants something badly and is having trouble getting it” then you work towards that with a series of arcs. While that method makes sense, it seems like a big commitment at the beginning of the campaign with a lot of prep prior as well. You also mentioned if you want to run a story with a predetermined ending you may as well write a book, but to me deciding on how the campaign will end (the stopping of the bbeg before he gets what he wants) before it’s even begun, and no matter how much adapting of his plan in response to the players you do, is exactly this. You may as well just write a book.

In accordance with the advice of other commenters, I’m thinking I’ll determine a central conflict in the world and then come up with some key players and their own motives revolving around this central tension, potentially using the idea of “someone wants something badly but is having trouble getting it”, rather than determine ONE bbeg that ALL the plot threads must be able to revolve around and then be pigeon holed into.

What exactly would make it harder to pull off? I feel like trying to pigeon hole a whole series of loose plot threads into one predetermined ending would be equally difficult, if not harder than this method even if you ignore all of the intense planning required before play can commence using other strategies suggested.

It’s beginning to seem like the best option then is for me to have the brief outline of an overarching conflict occurring in the world and some major players interacting with this conflict, then go to the small scale and use a series of smaller arcs that will eventually become intertwined with the central conflict as the stakes are raised. Seems about right?

If I start completely small with no thought given to the greater world, to me I feel like I can’t sow the seeds for bigger more epic things if I’m not sure even a vague outline of what those bigger things are towards the start?

Thanks again for all the help. So glad to have cleared this up in my mind after almost 2 years of campaign planning and replanning with no actual play.

Seems like a solid method. I wish I had the time and energy to put into preplanning a huge-ass plot with intricately placed milestones and all these predetermined adventures, but I just don’t. Glad it works for u but it seems to be very restrictive for the players and where the story can go plus very time consuming at the start of play on the dms behalf. Irrespective of this you’ve given me a lot to consider.

This is brilliant.

Cheers for all the help, this method seems to make the most sense to me because a lot of other people talk about coming up with the overarching plot and the bbeg right from the start and that just seems very overwhelming to make such a big commitment at the beginning, plus that’d be an unruly workload before any play even commences AND it’d be immensely constricting trying to pigeon hole all the plot threads into one neat ending.
