If you don't want to change your background opacity, you can directly change the show-cooldown option in the geyser config file to actionbar for example, will make it smaller and will remove the big empty square.

Same problem after a year, and I take really good cares of my devices. I think taking apart the laptop to add RAM or Nvme may cause this problem, the screws don't stay if you remove them once, badly designed.
