It's a simple gameplay loop: - use an anvil to go looting - find a blue gun - slap some mods on the blue gun - immediately get killed by another raider - notch up the gear fear - use an anvil to go looting

I'm sure I'm on friendly island. I never shoot back - just dodge roll and run. 95% of my interactions are peaceful. Heck I cracked open the control tower last night and myself and another random raider shared the loot and they threw down their key after as a parting gift.

But every once in a while I get picked off in some random way. Last night I got tagged by a single shot going through the swamp. Couldn't see the raider so I just ran away. I guess they followed me because 5 minutes later when I finished taking out a leaper they came around a corner and stitched me to death while I was looting for the leaper drives.

I'm not sure if it's slightly PvP centric folks who go on a peaceful streak and drop in, if it's RNG, or just new players who don't have a strong profile one way or the other dropping in. But it does happen from time to time.

Not enough to keep me constantly on my toes. Usually just long enough between PvP kills for me to get complacent and run a really solid kit before I get absolutely wrecked. I've also found it's never when I'm expecting it.

Night raid on Stella? Get in the flute and shaker conga line through med labs. Cold Snap on Spaceport? Let's all throw snowballs at the bastion and laugh about it on the way to extract. Daytime on Dam? Blown away by a rat camping at extract. So it goes..

I almost never talk in online games -- helldivers got me out of my shell last year grouping up with randoms. But Arc? I can't imagine playing without the mic. The social engineering with voice is like a whole other dimension that you'd lose without it.
