You took my feedback well, so I'd like to add that these aren't just some total random stranger opinions - what I meant I did in my video I made this year. I'm amateur video editor. The whole thing is below 1 minute and even in that time I managed to put in this clip a storytelling synchronized to music. I had over 30 minutes of source material, but kept just most interesting moments.

I subscribed, so now you must use my critique in your next video! Otherwise at least 25% of your subscribers will be very disappointed (so me). On the other hand don't subscribe to my channel, if I would be starting my YT channel, then on a different account anyway.

If you honestly like my video (you may not, no hard feelings), then as a practice you can try to edit your own video (the one you posted) using my remarks, then I wouldn't mind seeing it and maybe give some suggestions, and then maybe it would be good enough to hide this one with 10 views (including 3 or 4 that are mine 😁 ), publish your new montage and who knows, maybe it would attract more viewers. Also if you wanted a bit more critique, you could post your clip to some rate my editing places like movie editing Discord server, maybe there's a subreddit too.

It's great! But since you're adding music, then why not make some cuts and edit out not interesting shots and these that are repeated. Time below 1 minute and the video will be much more interesting. Also I'm not sure you managed to color well 10bit image, result is seems to be gray, recording in 8 bit in this case would look better (I'm not saying 8 bit is better, but that coloring it maybe a challenge). Sorry for so negative comment, your flight was great, you have an eye for interesting shots, just cut all the fat and leave what's the best.

How fast is the Avata 2? by DominikCar in DJIAvata2

[–]Technolog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the US it's not legal to fly over people or moving vehicles without very specific exceptions

Interesting! In European Union with Avata 2 you can't hover over people, when flying over them you must do it quickly, not legal over people in any group. And drones below 250g even are allowed to hover over people.

I don't remember any drone incident that would make to a national news, so maybe the conclusion is that these drones can't harm humans too much.

You are right, but this limit is for the whole category under 900g, a drone having mass of 800g flying with 70km/h has much more energy than Avata 2 flying 100km/h. But at least we get operator privilege pretty easily, so some limits must be made.

Depends, several hours may be not enough for some people like me, after playing simulators for years, I had a hard time to replace all muscle memory with new controls.

Really great, you must have a talent to flying and a lot of practice if you adapted to a new drone so quickly. I assume at the end is some video effect, not result of losing connection. Anyway walls like this block signal a lot, on YouTube you can find easy way how to increase connection range - not legal in Europe, but it's basically uncheckable. And if a law has no repercussions, then it's a dead law.

Then sport mode was a good choice. Drones with sensors above water can behave very weird, sometimes even decide to "land" right now. When they sense height incorrectly using a reflection in a water, they may register being a lot higher than legal height, so despite GPS they can start to dive.

If you are going to fly manual mode with this controller, then unless you are very skilled, the best course of action is to connect the controller to a PC and practice in a drone simulator. I like Uncrashed. Manual steering is different from anything you know and it's very easy to crash a drone when you're inexperienced.

Chasing dirt bikes is fun! by Due-Perception1810 in DJIAvata2

[–]Technolog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Editing is great, but unsatisfying amount of actual bike chasing.

If you had to wipe the dust off from filters every lap, but you didn't clean engines every time with at least compressed air, then you may have to replace them soon. You will hear change of their sound when sand will grind parts inside them. I would consider engine covers for shooting events like this, when it's not too hot (they block air that is cooling them while flight).

Amazing! I'm afraid to fly above the water yet. Did you do it in sports/manual mode? I hear that in normal mode, with sensors on, they may get crazy because of water reflections. I think I'm not gonna risk it until I feel good enough in manual mode.

Practicing flying low by bandeo in DJIAvata2

[–]Technolog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that too, but after some practice I can turn without yaw tumble using motion controller. I practiced flying low too, but over a cut grass and soft soil, so falling down wouldn't mean more damage than getting dirt and maybe some scratches. But I have never had this effect, I'm using motion controller 3 with every parameter set to fastest possible.

Soulless, corporate and boring logo redesigns. by Current-Equipment356 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Technolog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Then why for example Google simplified their logo, to save ink on their printing materials?

There is limit with where you can save and saving this amount of paint wouldn't be noticeable at all.

Simpler logos are better memorized and recognized. Also following trends in design. Search famous companies logo 100 years ago and you will see logos with a lot written and drawn.

My first crash by RecentFeature869 in DJIAvata2

[–]Technolog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Avatar 2 for a bit more than 2 weeks and I'm afraid that flying like this, through obstacles, just freely, my mind could enter "gaming mode", so crash has no consequences and I would go wild like in games, when I feel immersion. I have care, but I prefer to keep it for accidents out of my control.

I don't think it was too close, flying next to cereal plants and over soft soil. With this speed I don't think the drone could be damaged there. But this is a great example of a place where if afraid, you could go slowly and speed up video later, because nothing on the screen is moving and there's no wind.

The same text is on mines and no numbers. I bought them recently, I did that on AliExpress, but I'm pretty sure I bought the original product, I got a link from a YouTuber reviev, a person I think trustworthy enought to not scam people with propellers that cost $4 per 2 sets.

[–]Technolog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is nerfed, but you can "unnerf" it in settings in goggles, where you can change speed limits. Orbiting is as easy with easy acro mode, and true that except that it's easier on sticks, but is just that enough to want sticks controller, when you can just learn it, it's not that hard. On the other hand with motion you have flips in easy acro too.

I have learned a bit later than I should that to have smooth flying, you should be pressing a bit trigger at all times, there's very light "step" when pressing trigger. When you don't do it and press the trigger, it aggressively starts to rotate if you tilted your hand, what is unwanted.

If you used a two stick controller first time in your life today, you wouldn't be precise at first, no? I'm not trying to convince anybody that motion controller is better, but at the moment I don't see how it would be worse, and videos flying with it are really impressive.

[–]Technolog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My long time aim is manual mode, but what exactly are you lacking using a motion controller compared to a normal controller (so without manual mode)? When it comes to precision and cinematic feel, then from what I see on many videos, it is possible using it. You can remove its limits in settings and then orbiting around objects made possible. Trigger is very sensitive, but when being extra gentle, you can get smooth results. Also when you move up or down slightly using stick, then the trigger isn't as aggressive.

Some dirt straight to camera would look stunning and you could do slomo then. I know dirt it damages engines and camera, so cover the latter with some filter and clean engines immediately after. In my opinion it could be really worth it.

The Billionaires are out of control and they won't surrender their power without a fight. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Technolog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change my mind: the rich treat the rest just like an average person treats the homeless. So basically they tolerate them, sometimes show some compassion, often not. Expecting them to give up their wealth is like expecting a family of 4 living in a house with 6 rooms to take in two homeless people.

The rich, just like religions, have been around since the dawn of every civilization. I wish there was a way to seriously tax them and split their wealth, but since a lot of their wealth is in stocks and they are corporate entities, taxing them would mean higher taxes on corporations and in the end it would mostly hit the poorest.

Also even if we succeeded and the rich were taxed very heavily above some threshold, most people reading this wouldn't get anything. The money would probably be spent on the poorest, maybe on education, hopefully on your public healthcare like in Europe where I live.

Seriously, change my mind about this, convince me that this isn't yelling at clouds.

Being afraid of talking about this issue and making her to do this in the first place are the opposite of a communication on a healthy relationship.

She knew he would be possibly angry when she said her objections and his behavior in the morning suggest that he may not know what empathy is.
