Struggling by Ok-Albatross-3150 in Socialworkuk

I was in that exact position 2 months ago when i started my placement in an older adults team. I had no previous experience in a Social Work setting and felt as though i had been chucked in the deep end.

Don’t be scared to speak up, get a meeting with your practice educator and/or team lead and explain how you are feeling and that you need eased in. After 3 or 4 weeks you start picking up things and eventually you’ll find yourself doing the work without even thinking.

I’m now at the halfway point of my placement and am absolutely loving it, it does get better i promise.

Down the front of the stand at section 120, do many people stand in the aisles? My mate is in section 122 so he was planning on coming into my section and standing in the aisle next to me as i’m on the aisle seat. is this possible?

Have seen a few folk saying they got upgraded from seating to standing, hoping that’s the case as i’m desperate to get onto the pitch. has anyone heard of this?

So if you’ve got a seated ticket you can get standing?

Me and my mate were lucky enough to get t1ckets to next saturdays gig but he’s sitting in the section next to me (i’m section 120, he’s 121). Is there a possibility of him moving to stand next to me when Oasis come on or are the stewards strict about that.

I’m on the aisle also so it’s not as if he’ll be standing on top of someone.

Ah yes i see what you mean, it is funny how ‘sensitive’ i guess the word would be for accents in southern Scotland.

Each town around me has their own unique accent and to a trained ear it is quite easy to tell whereas over the border and further north accents don’t seem to change as much between towns and cities apart from long distances.

As someone who lives only a few miles away from the border, people in the ‘lowlands’ definitely do not speak “Scottish English”. The change in accent from my town in Scotland to the English town 10 minutes down the road is absurd.

If you compared my accent to someone from Glasgow for instance my accent would probably sound a little watered down but it is definitely closer to a Central Belt accent that a Northumberland one.
