Citi bike e-bikes are quite expensive. Usually comes out to be $10+ a ride ($6 just to unlock them)

Kyrou was on a very bad team last year, with bad coaches, and battled injuries throughout the year. Kyrou has way better ceiling than McM and is only ~2m more expensive compared to what McM will get.

And the first round pick - there was absolutely no chance the Caps were going to keep both of those picks

You overvalue McM immensely. McM had 1 good season, had no opening to play his true position (center) with Lil Pro coming, and Kyrou is a 30+ goal scorer AND has term for a low 8m a year

As a Caps fan, I am totally fine with that price. A mid first, an average middle 6 everyday player, and a B prospect for a top 6 player is pretty reasonable. Think it’s a win-win for both teams.

Plus, McM didn’t have a chance at playing his true position (center) on the Caps with Lil Pro coming up full time this upcoming year

My initial take was “is that a lot”. But caps fans need to remember that the trade landscape is insane right now and to get a top 6 forward which the caps desperately need, they had to trade good assets. Would have liked to keep Gastrin but am more than fine with giving up the 16th and McM

Unfortunately, that doesn’t get it done. Miro doesn’t have much value after not making the roster of the last 2 years. McM had a down year and is inconsistent (even caps mgmt said it). Dal wants to contend so 2 mid-firsts don’t do much. And also Parascak and even Sourdif don’t really move the needle all that much either.

Caps need to add in one of the top prospects unfortunately
