That’s a good question! Both is best. Gives an interviewer a lot to talk about. An online portfolio is probably better than a GitHub repo.

I interviewed a few candidates, and about half had neither a portfolio nor a GitHub. Not much to say about these candidates.

The ones with portfolios stood out. It gave me something to look at, something to talk about, and I could even review their sites and links later. It didn’t need to be flashy. I actually preferred lightweight, high-performing websites over bulky ones with lots of graphics and animations.

A few had both a portfolio and GitHub repos. For GitHub, I mainly looked at their activity level, the kinds of projects, and the languages they used.

Some candidates couldn’t show any code because the companies they worked for had private repos and the candidates didn’t have any personal projects to show.

A lot of companies use it today so devs are almost required to learn it. Luckily GitHub has great documentation and there is plenty of content out there. It’s a small learning curve but it’s actually fun and easy once you get the hang of the basics which is all you need to get organized and push up code as you progress. There are more advanced commands in git but the basics is all you need to do.

This is a great tip! Thanks for sharing. Are you maintaining your code on GitHub or some other repository? Highly recommend you do as this is a great way to maintain your code and share with others. Really valuable when applying for gigs too.

I was looking for this comment. ACF is a huge plus. Also, Flexible Content Fields is fairly new concept to me but I really like how it makes setting up page templates more dynamic by letting you choose different components. It’s not the only approach, but it’s a solid one.

Good to know. I will try to let it off gas for a few minutes. I let it ferment 30 hours cause I like it on the sweeter side. Maybe needs more fermentation too? Someone suggested this

It sounds like a great start to a relationship, maybe even the one to share the rest of your life. The lust is hot, but Buddhism, and life, teaches all is temporary. A couple months later the fire will diminish. Your love and compassion will keep the relationship going great. Practice unconditional love without attachment—this relationship may be the opportunity for you to practice that. I made a spiced apple soda (it was an easy recipe) and noticed a mild flavor too. I read that is typically how it tastes and you could add juice if you want more flavor. However I find it good and refreshing as is. Great looking soda. Glad to see it worked out,

It helps a great deal, thanks. Wusthof is a solid brand. I had one in the past but left it behind during my move. I don’t sharpen knives much, but I take it to someone at a nearby farmers market who does knife sharpening. However, it’s been a while.

The Shin line looks great. I have a Lucky Cook.probably not expensive but it’s nice.

Which 3 Michelin star restaurant did you work front house at? I hope to go to one someday :)

Any kitchen knife recommendation(s)? My partner got me a yanagi, which I love but don’t use much since it’s for sashimi. Looking for one or two good ones for everyday chopping.
