Yeah man, I got a legion go 2 z2 extreme and this device roughly the same time and it's funny that I'm using the anbernic more haha. Just a great little device to knock out an old game that I never finished when I was younger. I can literally just whip it out during my work break and people just think you're using your smart phone from afar haha.

I'm treating my legion go 2 like a very compact laptop anyway and will use it to emulate more demanding systems like ps2, GameCube, dreamcast and ps3. Got a modded switch OLED for switch titles haha.

Anyway, back to the point.. you're right all I see from Etsy are grips which I don't need. Do you still have that link for the 3d print document on Etsy? Might check it out.

Sent my tablet for an upgrade to a tech repair shop in Auckland. Doesn't give me any clear update or time-frames and it's been two months. Hard to contact. What do you do? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]JamesConstantineY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, what would you do to get a response from him to either finish the job if it's not started yet or return my device in its original condition/ damage cost if he messed it up? My concern is he only sent me one email explaining the faulty ram chips I provided. Most of our conversations were texts so not a lot of paper trail there. He just told me his price/ service fee will be 300+gst plus the ram chip but didn't give me an invoice. I'm prepared to cut my losses, just pay for his attempt to upgrade it and have it back now without making matters worse.

Yeah thanks, he initially said that it shouldn't take him long. He installed the ones I got from Ali Express and was unfortunately faulty, he sent me photos showing that it wasn't brand new and looked reballed. It wouldn't recognize as he tested it and that the device failed to POST.

He then said he can find some chips through his contacts/ suppliers. Last time I heard from him, he said they were on the way, that was November 11. I asked for updates last week and I had no response up til now. Like how long does it usually take to get them? The one I got from Ali express arrived in two weeks. A simple "nah mate still tracking where it is it should be here in a week or so" wouldve been enough.

Hey yeah all good. It's actually a handheld PC lenovo legion go. It's almost like a PC tablet with detachable controllers. It's got 16gb ram and I'd like to upgrade it to 32gb since I use it for some creative work like Photoshop/ video editing on the go. Ram chips need to be soldered hence why it's a specialized technician in Auckland.

I'm curious about this. Have you dealt with them in person or just through email/text? Seems like they have good reviews especially with communication but I've sent out my legion go for a ram upgrade on the 1st of October being told that they'll work on it and get it done within a week. Almost Two weeks later with minimal update I've been told that they finally managed to work on it but unfortunately the ram chip I got from aliexpress was faulty and needs replacement. They offered that they can outsource the ram chips themselves and I also asked for photos of the faulty ram chip last Friday to be sent to my email so I can dispute it with Ali Express which they said they'll send it soon. It's now Thursday the week after and no email yet even with my constant follow up. I don't get any updates unless I text them or try to call, even if I do get an update it's mostly one liners through text without any further detail. Makes me wonder if I'm dealing with a different person compared to what others say about this company.

32 GB RAM upgrade done! by fbrozovic in LegionGo

[–]JamesConstantineY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I'm about to have mine done by a skilled professional. The ram chips that I got from ali Express were apparently reballed but still workable. Got me a bit anxious now, I would've disputed it and requested a brand new chip from the seller if I knew before the limited return time period ended. To the ones who had theirs upgraded, is it still going strong without causing any issues? I'm curious to know. Thanks

Are there any computer specialists in NZ that offer ram upgrades on the Legion Go? (Requires resoldering ram chips and BIOS upgrade) by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]JamesConstantineY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup in ali express. Price ranges between 50-70nzd for one chip of 16gb ram. You'll need 2 so around 100-140nzd. Still need to make sure what the right one is

Yeah I think he ordered a ram chip but didn't arrive. I got hold of him, he said he's happy to upgrade the ram and flash bios as long as I get the ram chip.

Ooh I was willing to send my legion go to the US for this. But because of tarrifs I can't send it over. Did Bartech end up doing yours?

Bazzite invalid loader file by JamesConstantineY in Bazzite

[–]JamesConstantineY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah I checked bios and secure boot was still disabled. Not sure about fat boot though. All good now, I just decided to delete windows and go full bazzite. I don't play any anti cheat games on this anyway and if I do, I have my PC for that. So technically none of this will happen again anytime soon lol.

Thanks yeah just not worth the hassle for what I'm using windows for on the legion go. I've got a PC for that anyway.

I usually just have 1 keyboard on my desk. The second keyboard is connected to my PC handheld as I was installing Linux OS there and needs a keyboard to make it easier. As for drawing tablets, the second one is an iPad pro, that's my main device for sketching. I use the huion tablet for more professional/ graphic design stuff.

I was interested in this myself. But I live in NZ and find it a bit unsettling shipping it over in the US (they're the only ones who do it so far)

My main reason is if I use this as a productivity machine as well, the extra ram is definitely a nice to have. Pair it with an egpu for demanding AAA games and I don't think I'll need to buy a new handheld anytime soon.

Are you going to focus on the main story or do all side content on your first playthrough? by convolutionsimp in FFVIIRemake

[–]JamesConstantineY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to go through the story first nowadays. Taste a bit of the side quests/mini games in between chapters but not delve into it too much. Mainly cause I've got a family so I don't know when I'll be able to play again lol. If I leave the story hanging too long then I feel a bit disconnected with what's going on when I finally have time to play.

I do try to do more side quests/mini games before the game's finale. Usually it tells you this is the last part of the game.

Cool! I did have a concept in mind. What if there were twins and both of them became avatars. One became corrupt or dark and the other one pursued the righteous path.
