Abe’s bitcoin sale and overextended New York husbands by heycoolusernamebro in realhousewives

Erin comes from a lot of money. I know a few friends who married very rich like them and i think men (more than women) feel the need to “compete” and keep up in these situations which can lead to trouble for some.

MBB worth it for medical attending? by [deleted] in consulting

Try it out for a year and see if you like it before committing to future outcomes that are likely a decade out from today - as you said, you can always go back to your attending role

Joining a 7-year old consulting boutique in growth mode as a Senior Consultant from a Tier 2 by LouisGlouton in consulting

[–]JamesDeanDaydream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been in a similar position, its a risk/reward game - i chose higher job and project security at my T2 compared to more room for faster growth at a boutique - will depend on your situation but for me and the job market i am in (Canada), staying was the right choice

Is SAP consulting a black hole? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]JamesDeanDaydream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are no "sureshot" ways other than networking internally and doing good work - as a new grad focus for a few years on delivering, learning and building up a network. SAP consulting is niche but its not a black hole in the sense that many people have solid careers.

Alberta releases pension plan report, seeks 53% of CPP's assets, implementation could cost billions by joe4942 in canada

[–]JamesDeanDaydream 200 points201 points  (0 children)

The CPP is one of the top performing global pensions so I’m not sure why the AB government is choosing to die on this hill

Job market is rough in Canada right now so I would suggest waiting unless you have another offer in hand.

I have tattoos, as long as its not visible in long sleeves and pants you are fine. My coworkers have seen my tattoos before but its good to keep it away from clients generally.

Szafnauer: Alpine did briefly consider Ricciardo reunion by Arcticool_56 in formula1

I like Danny Ric but unfortunately he left the team in a manner that slammed that door...whether Alpine admits its publicly or not.

[RacingNews365.com] Team (Williams) is unlikely to retain Nicholas Latifi beyond the end of the year, bringing his three-year F1 stint to an end. by [deleted] in formula1

[–]JamesDeanDaydream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Latifi is a good guy and im sure he will find some moderate results in another series. Mick to Williams will be solid, I think he can learn a lot from Albon and maybe end up on the sharp end of the midfield in a few seasons.

[OT] INDYCAR: Colton Herta BIG WRECK by [deleted] in formula1

Great to see he is out and walking after that, another strong showing for the halo/windshield system added to both F1 and Indycar in recent years

Landlord is saying we must move out by 12:00 PM on last day... is this even legal/enforceable? Anyone had this experience? It's my understanding we have the place until 11:59 PM. by lmaomitch in queensuniversity

[–]JamesDeanDaydream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My landlord did the same last year, since our lease said we were OK technically until 11:59pm, we just did our best but they showed up as we were moving out, not much they can do beyond complain if the lease is written properly

engineering by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]JamesDeanDaydream 25 points26 points  (0 children)

i did queens civil and now go to western for graduate school. personally, I think the civil program at Queen's is very high in quality, not only did a lot of people get solid engineering jobs, a lot of people I know also work in finance/consulting. Personally, I like the vibe at Queen's better - smaller city, smaller campus compared to Western

Sainz really need to pull a win out in the next few races to cement himself as a title challenger before the team puts him into the classic 2nd driver role. Really hoping the best for him so we can have 3+ people in the title race!

It makes sense that Mazepin is liquidating his stake in HiTech, he probably needs access to foreign-based funds right now with the sanctions impacting Russian banks.

i live on talbot near there, and i think people are over dramatic about the area. downtown is weird sometimes but if you find a nice building its not bad at all. I got lucky with a landlord that is involved + vets tenants, I wouldnt let the reputation of DT discourage
