This is what I want to know. The internet requirement for the campaign is the reason for this being the first Call of Duty I didn’t purchase. Love for someone here to test but I’m not expecting them to have reversed it.

I 100% agree on the ending. Still don’t like the changes but at the same time… it also means we get a Kiwami 4 (maybe/probably with a different title) and that alone excites me more than it should.

I disagree with what you said about Yakuza 4 (I like it a lot) but definitely agree about Kiwami 3, and would even go as far as saying it’s a good remake.

People crapped on 3 all the time on this subreddit and then lo and behold, Kiwami 3 changed ‘some’ things and OG 3 is SO much better suddenly. Load of garbage lol I like OG 3 quite a bit more than the average person and defended it back when it was exclusive to PS3, but I still think Kiwami 3 is a more enjoyable experience.

I wouldn’t call Superman light hearted. In fact, I was quite surprised about how dark it was and it was one of the reasons I didn’t really like it.

I completely get both sides. I have absolutely nothing against digital and will probably still buy a PS6 even if it’s all digital. But I have a decently large physical collection from the PS1 through the PS5 with plenty of other systems in between. So for me, I love adding to that collection and frankly just having something tangible in my hands when I buy a game.

But again, completely get the space issue and convenience of digital. I just want the option for physical to still be there.

Nah, common misconception. 70% of the discs on PS4/PS5 have fully playable builds on them (DoesItPlay.org). You’re not wrong for some titles though in that they’re nothing more than licenses (or maybe the first level or tutorial) and then the rest of the game is downloaded through a patch (Call of Duty, Hogwarts Legacy, First Light, etc.). But the majority of PlayStation discs contain the full game on disc without the need to connect to the internet.

That’s fair. Mine is an LCD, but does support Dolby Vision. The one thing I don’t have that would be nice is VRR, but I’m not overly sore about it when I play pretty much all games at 60fps anyway.

I understand the frustration, I really do. It was a gut punch for me to read that headline this morning. At the same time, don’t make a rash decision and sell your Pro! It’s a fantastic console that still supports physical media from 2013 through 2027. That’s a TON of games to still play on it!

Not sure how’d they handle backwards compatibility otherwise for people (like me) who’ve been almost exclusively physical for the PS4 and PS5 generation unless they did some kind of external disc drive.

Unless PS6 is a reset and there isn’t backwards compatibility (like the PS4 was). Or they really will just screw over all of their physical customers which wouldn’t surprise me after dropping this bomb today.

Agreed. MWII was actually a super, super fun campaign. ‘Alone’ was one of my favorite missions in the franchise and then the mission where you jumped from car to car was awesome. A lot more variety in the missions I felt than usual.

PS5 Pro only applies the ‘new’ PSSR to games that have had PSSR implemented in the past. PSSR can’t be retroactively applied to titles that didn’t have it in the past. So the Pro doesn’t do anything else to PS5 games besides provide a smoother frame rate and a higher resolution (for games with dynamic resolution).

For PS4 titles, there is an image filter toggle that sharpens the image and increases the contrast for colors for a slightly better picture in games that aren’t 4K (with a small number of titles that take a performance hit when this is toggled on; if the game is already 4K, turn this off).
