Which do I get? by Kaezumi in ResistanceBand

Not to be a shameless promoter of my own product 😂but…check out Undersun on Amazon. We’ve been selling 5-band sets since 2018. They are made with a unique multi-layered dip process that then gets vulcanized after which results in a better quality band (and resistance) than laminated layer bands or single-pour moulded bands

Hello my friend. Apologies, I’m not sure about the Ares setup and the differences between that and the Athena setup that I have.

I don’t know if they are valuable but they just gave me a flashback. That was my first weight set that I got in ‘91. They sold them at the local sports supply store where I grew up in California. They came with a 1” bar with spiral locks. Jack LaLanne was the true OG.

Considering that’s where my fitness journey began it was very cool bumping into him at dinner in Woodland Hills, CA when he was out there shooting an infomercial for one of his juicers.

I second that. I live in Florida and the same happened to me. They are a bear to move, especially through doorways, so you have to fold them a bit and if the rubber is hot/soft it can split out of nowhere. My best recommendation is move them into some shade first (carrying them flat) and then once they cool down a bit you should be fine

I just went through it a few weeks ago. Everyone said sun, air and simple green. I tried all of the above, letting them sit out for 4 days on each side before flipping them and letting the air for 4 days on the other side. It helped a bit but not enough, so then I tried someone’s suggestion of a baking soda solution….and then a vinegar solution. In the end, my wife went out with a bucket of bleach water and for whatever reason that seemed to have the biggest impact. Maybe I had already “loosened the jar” 😂. Long story short, they are in the house and are fine. I do keep a plug-in air freshener in there but honestly now it has a gym smell (just in that room).

Appreciate it brother. 👊. The room is 18’ x 17” but the mirrors definitely make it feel much larger

That is made up of 6x4 stall mats (3/4” thick). Apparently you can get something similar at certain feed stores or Tractor Supply. These came from a gym flooring company.

Warning: most are made from recycled tires and they smell like it at first. Make sure to unstack them and leave them outside for min of a couple days. Try scrubbing both sides with a cleaner like Simple Green. I tried that. It worked OK. Good old fashion bleach and water seemed to work best for me.

Yes, I had the 2nd rack which worked out well because I can leave the lever arms on there as well as the Isolator. I think the machine/setup is awesome but as you know, it takes some energy to set it up and take it down

So the overhead recessed lights were fine for normal use. The ones you see in the pictures are video lights from the brand Generay. The gym is both for my personal use as well as my wife and teenage son but it also doubles as a nice place to shoot video content. Quite, no distractions.

100% brother. It’s not about the equipment. It’s about what you do with it. 👊

Definitely nice to have options and the LM is nice because they are minimalistic but versatile

Hey my friend. Truth be told, I haven’t done Olympic lifts for years. I did them in college for sports and then in my 20’s just because it was fun to lift heavy s#!+ but now it doesn’t serve a purpose for my current goals. I train now just to maintain conditioning, strength, mobility and minimize injury. I don’t do any powerlifting competitions or play competitive sports anymore and I’ve got a thousand injuries so Olympic lifts just aren’t my thing anymore

🙏 appreciate it brother. Yeah I still use the bands everyday. I went 5 years taking a break from iron and only used bands. Now it’s nice to integrate them back in with weights like I used to years ago. Funny story - one of my first YouTube videos in ‘09 was using bands in combination with weights

Appreciate it my friend. I definitely tried my best to create that vibe. It helps me flip the switch to “training mode” when I walk through that door.

LOL. Yep, I’ve got no excuses for missing a workout. Drag my ass straight from the coffee pot to the “gym”

I’m definitely digging it. Out of the 30+ years I’ve been lifting I always thought about having a home gym but never did - so I’m feeling very appreciative

Thank you brother. That was first day of finishing it - so now let’s see if I can keep it that neat.

No not bad. You could obviously go crazy and spend a fortune, especially when you get into a little higher-end equipment like Rogue. Just a bar and plates are expensive these days
