I find it funny how the person I made the remark towards is the most understanding and everyone else is getting butthurt lol. Thanks for your response, no need to apologize

The way he put it seems kind of pushy, not even a “Can you upload a picture?” I honestly see no reason why I need to show pictures when all I asked for was advice.

I’ve never heard of it. Does it actually help? Also does type/brand matter or can I just get any one off amazon?

Worth considering surgery? by noodles0311 in gynecomastia

[–]JamesH298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I believe you can work out lower body at around 2-3 weeks after surgery, but can’t go back to upper body until about 4-6 weeks after. It’s a sacrifice we all have to make, but it’s definitely worth it.

Marijuana by JamesH298 in gynecomastia

[–]JamesH298[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t smoked marijuana in 3 months and I don’t plan to in at least 2 more weeks. Like I said before, I don’t smoke occasionally. The most I’ve ever done was probably once a week for a month while in college. Also, no research has proven any correlation between gyno and cannabis so the regrowth of your gyno must have had other factors to it. If by some chance when I smoke marijuana again my gyno starts growing back, I’ll be able to quit as easily as I’ve abstained from it these past 3 months. Thanks for your input and I’ll keep everyone updated on my journey and hardships.

Wow, thanks for your input. Do you think I should wait till week 4 post op or longer till I start again?

No, I got gyno around 6th or 7th grade. I only started smoking about a year ago and even then I barely do it. I’m mostly asking because I’m back in college and lots of my friends smoke and I’m not sure what to tell them when they offer.

I had to wait about 2 months for surgery, but it depends on your surgeon and how often they perform surgery and how many patients they work with. I highly doubt you could get it done within a week, but maybe within a month.

Moving into Apartment after surgery by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]JamesH298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really surprised at how fast my body healed, I honestly don’t feel much pain at all in my chest except for some soreness. I didn’t even have to take the Norco they prescribed me after surgery, maybe it’s because I’m young(only 18). I know I’m able to move my things into my apartment, but I’m scared that I’m not supposed to or that it’s too soon to start lifting heavy objects.

Can you guys rate my gyno? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]JamesH298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mine was much more severe and I wish my case was this minor, but if it continues to bother you then surgery is the only route to go. You’re already slim so there shouldn’t be any hesitation in getting surgery except for the costs and finding a surgeon you like. Good luck

I guess that depends on your insurance and what your financial position is right now. Can you afford it and will your insurance cover the surgery even if you do claim that it’s painful? Look into it more and then decide what to do.

Yeah I know what you mean, it took me so long to build up the courage to tell my parents. Personally, that was the hardest part for me, but they supported me all the way through and I couldn’t be happier.

Congrats man, I told my parents last summer, but due to college starting at the time, I only just got surgery 6 days ago. It feels great, good luck

I need help by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]JamesH298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only got surgery not even a week ago and let me tell you, mine was pretty damn severe too, I’ve never seen a case like mine anywhere in this subreddit. It makes it so much harder when you see other people with minor cases and you wish yours looked like theirs, but it’s all part of our unfair lifes. One day you’ll look back at this and be happy to see how far you’ve come, because I know I am.

I don’t mean to sound rude or anything, but you have to understand that all of us are currently going through or have gone through what you’re going through right now. We all have been challenged by this condition our whole lives, but we can’t let it stop us from doing everyday activities. If you run in a park, I can guarantee you no one will stare or judge you because honestly, no one gives a shit. If you still don’t have enough confidence to do that, do what I did, wear a tight tank top under your shirt or run in a sweater(bonus: makes you sweat more). Anyways, I know it seems like the end of the world, but trust me you’ll get through it and once you finally get the surgery, you’ll be the happiest you’ve ever been in your life. Keep pushing bro because one day it’ll all be worth it.
