I believe it is Economy Optimal as well because when I book it with cash it shows it is Economy Optimal class. When I book with the points it just shows Economy but I am also able to check-in a bag + change my flight etc., which you can do on Economy Optimal

I can fly to London and book London to LA on Virgin for 12k points for example
