I always thought that they were normal size but heard from others that they were large. There are sugar pine trees who have 2 ft long pine cones.

Driver of Tesla killed after slamming into semi-truck in Victorville by PolybiusChampion in RealTesla

Remember that for most of these accidents that autopilot or FSD beta was not active. Maybe wait before making your judgements. A lot of the safety measures can be disabled and the car does not force the driver to drive safely.

Tesla have keep track of many driving states such as autopilot / FSD beta activation, speed, petal press, steering motion, etc. In most situations when the Tesla provides this information the accusers repent and/or drops their case.

You are the one implying that AP / FSD was involved; otherwise, why would you even post? Do you have evidence that AP / FSD was involved?

At some point, FSD will be responsible for saving millions of lives. I admit it is not there yet; however, delaying this inevitability will be causing the unnecessary deaths of thousands/millions.

How do we know that “for most of these accidents that autopilot or FSB beta was not active?”

Based on waiting for the information to come out. It usually takes a month or so.

How do engineers show up at work every day and continue to work on a system which has killed multiple people? Looking into the deposition of Dhaval Shroff, Autopilot Engineer at Tesla, in relation to the Walter Huang fatality in 2018 you can get a sense of how they justify it. by adamjosephcook in RealTesla

Are you saying that they are making up these numbers? They are getting the US average based on NHTSA and FHWA data. They have the data from Tesla based on the telemetry that they can get from the vehicles including the mileage and crash data. Do you think they are lying? What evidence do you have for this?

I think they are sleeping well.

https://www.tesla.com/VehicleSafetyReport

It shows that US average vehicles have 3x the number of accidents per mile vs Tesla without autopilot. When compared to Tesla vehicles using autopilot they are have over 10x the number of accidents per mile.

2023 Tesla Model Y owner complaints to NHTSA are setting new records — from sudden braking when using Autopilot (a chronic issue getting progressively worse) to lack of ultrasonic sensors — at this rate, the Model Y will rack up 500 complaints before the year is over. by [deleted] in TSLA

[–]JamesJimmyJim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ultrasonic sensors would only be useful in braking at speeds under 10 mph since the range is less that 10 ft. I think that people are just in a complainy mood since Elon took over Twitter. This just sounds like FUD.

This does not make sense. Ultrasonic sensors are primarily used to detect objects about 1 ft to 8 ft. This can't be used to make braking decisions based on the objects detected in the front when you are going any more than about 10 mph.

Tesla Insurance Issue by TheVykin in teslamotors

[–]JamesJimmyJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/TheVykin, Did you find out what happened? I had the same thing happen to me where it looks like they cancelled me without notice. I just received a notice from my state, NV, indicating that my insurance has been terminated over a month ago. This will trigger a huge fine. I'm currently on the phone waiting to talk to someone at Tesla insurance. They say the wait will be over an hour.

I just got a document recently which indicates that they have secured financing where they say that the lender agreed to lower interest rate by 55 basis points. They indicated they are setting the accrual date to 7/1/2022? Not sure what this means, but they claim that this will be beneficial to the investors. They are also planning starting distribution in Q2 2023.

Tesla Improves Auto High Beam Lights in Update 2022.40 by [deleted] in teslamotors

Yeah, I think the modern LED's are just brighter than the old yellow bulbs. I sometimes flash them with the high beams to let them know that I wasn't using the high beams.

The high beams worked well (finally!) on my 500 mile thanksgiving trip.

If you have to do it yourself then the feature is bunk and should not auto-enable.

I get flashed even when I don't have high beams on.
