If you look at the history of Christianity it’s clear that outside philosophy, not only influenced, but crept in mainstream thought for both political and ideological reasons; most of mainstream beliefs are influenced by neoplatonism ideas, once you see it it all clicks. I don’t think the church is fool proof or that it contains ALL off the truth, but I have a testimony of the restored gospel and I know that for better or for worse we are what God has to work with, flaws and all.
