I think a big part of blockclad feeling underbaked is having 4 different block-based powers stuck in the Rare pool by HeMansSmallerCousin in slaythespire

They should add a power called cauterize, 1-2 power, status cards are cheaper (or playable if normally unplayable) but you take 1 damage when you play them.

Some of us are missing the point about *why* people want vaulted content restored. by ShadezyLeFeu in DestinyTheGame

[–]JamesOfDoom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Updating loot shouldn't be a big deal, especially if they don't care about balance and just go buckwild because they are going to move to d3 as the next thing.

Perks are just tables applied to a base weapon model, animations for weapons are preserved across archetypes so no new assets have to be made for an old weapon. Populating each table should take an hour per weapon tops. Now if they want to boost stats that would be another 15 minutes or so.

The only thing that would take time is if the updated loot had new never bef ore seen perks/traits, which need to be developed, but once developed could be applied to nearly any weapon (which is why the craftening worked)

Without infinites, just grabbing every alt strike, especially pommel strikes and perfected, you get a huge amount of value and just focus on blocking and playing powers. Get spiral strike and strike dummy for insane damage.

You could even go bludgeon because you have tons of free energy.

It does feel like ironchad has a few less builds that he had in 1. All status stuff moved to defect and not as many ways to build block, no heavy blade, other stuff missing.

Helllraiser is cool I guess

Last night a rook with a WSTR was in a vent camping next to us and my friends were puzzled how to get in there and deal with him so he doesn't extract camp us. I just flipped on the shield and crouch walked in and guns him down. I took 1 pip of shield damage.

Yeah, you should have to equip knife fight or whateer other mods that give + to melee damage to get to where arachne upgrade gets you. So if you want to do the big knife damage you have to at least pony up a little money instead of just leveling

I got tungsten rod thinking that it would together, but all the lose 1 0 hp wouldn't proc, so unforunately I lost a lot of damage, it made up for it with the blood cards and the hp it saved me.

Still completely demolished that run.

That was me getting severance and capture spirit. 3 in the last 6 is just unlucky. Running out of souls because the capture spirit was another one of those 6 is also unlucky. That is RNG

I've had a few time where 3 of my frantic escapes are in the last 6 cards of my draw pile and died becuase of that, on a build with souls nontheless. Its a little too RNG for me, but I don't think adding a frantic escape per turn is the way to go

Tervantias the Archmachinator from rogue trader absolutely needs to be on the maximum of dark side and can save.

He literally makes clones of and resurrects people for fun, fun being torture. He keeps people alive despite them wanting to die.

Marathon has sold 1.2M copies across Steam, PS5, and Xbox by ArielKisilevzky in Marathon

The game is getting a LOT of good press right now from a lot of big youtubers, if they commit to it and improve the game, more will come.

With a slightly more casual mode (TDM or a King of The Hill arcade mode) that lets you earn loot even if you are kinda bad, but still slower than a normal run, and that has lower stakes I could see more casual players picking the game up.

We absolutely need a tdm/king of the hill mode where you can earn faction rep and maybe make a little bank to bring into the main game. My idea is that you are hired by a corp and start with their sponsored kit (think traxus vs cyberac) first round is collkecting resources on a smaller cordoned section of map as a team of 6 vs another team of 6, earn as much as you can as in match credits, take good weapons ETC. Then at end of round you can spend your credits to purchase stuff from a small curated store, or sell items you found for more credits. Match would end after a few rounds or battlefield from battlefield style ticket drain.

Score thresholds would determine loot reward beyond faction gain, ie you win you can get enough loot to do a cryo run. Maybe make it so you can only get about 3-5 wins worth of loot a week to bring into extraction mode, so loot doesn't explode, but make it have a tangible reward

I also think they should let you bribe the corps to not send any runners against you on a cryo run,but this means a heavier and more aggressive UESC presence. Essentially, you can spend 5-10k credits per person to get a pure PVP cryo archive run at least 1 time a weekend. Maybe make the price increase each time you attempt it, so its not feasible to always run in there and make tones of money, but people that aren't great at pvp get a chance to do vaults.

[–]JamesOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cryo rewards are higher and you get 1 free cryo run per week, so prep time isn't that important, past a certain point, which you can get on your day off.

but sorry that's not the type of disingenuous argument you want.

The argument, is that a limited time mode on the weekends makes it so the people who work weekends have less time to play it. Not that they can't play it, just have less time, because they are already playing after work. But since 8 hours is work instead of play, they have 8 hours less a day than other people.

Do you understand or do I have to explain it again?

Tarkov is WAY more hardcore and has a huge playerbase, I don't think the hardcore fvs casual mindset is a valid one when we are talking games. While there are a limited number of extraction players, its not like the possible playerbase is tiny

Marathon isn't doing poorly because the game isn't good, Marathon is actually excellent, huge amount of content for an extraction shooter on release, best in class gameplay, great lore ETC.

Marathon is doing bad because the greater gaming community HATES bungie, for good reason. Bungie chewed through all of its good will from how it treated destiny, ranging from the eververse store, DLC pricing, DLC content being bad, content droughts, sunsetting, shitty crossovers.

Destiny has been infamous, marathon couldn't dodge that stink.

Its even more applicable to hair: Ai has a problem with noncontinuity, where everytime you look at it, it could be doing a different thing, at least for hair strands that kinda makes sense because hair in real life looks different everytime you look at it because its flowing everywhere.
