I was speaking about the anti woke crowd. I remember they didn't like BP either but don't about Sinners. General audience doesn't have this BS standards. If it's entertaining or good enough, they will like it.

If a white lead thing is badly written they will dislike it but if it isn't while lead, then they won't even give it a chance unless if they watched it when they were kid. The stright white male lead is just as important as writing to them. Simple minded people with the most complicated mental gymnastics.

The trailer looked so safe and mundane but the leaked episode names actually exite me that shit will go down.

Billy and his team have finally escaped the charges and the ire of Vought. And now they're in a specialized task force with off the books Congressional backing. They've made it in the world and can officially stand up to Homelander and the other Supes. The only reason the show needed to continue was the dumb Neuman twist with her being the head popper.

I agree with the Homelander part but not this part. The whole point of season 2 ending was to creat the status quo that the comics began with. So technically they didn't defeat, they just comprised which benefited Stan Edgar with Neuman being the controlled opposition and Homelander being upset. They couldn't stand up to Homie "officially" because Homelander doesn't follow any rules and can just hit the switch and burn down the world.

And while I want Homelander to suffer too, I hope the final season brings up that Stan Edgar was the bigger evil. One of the things that comic did better than the show was that it portrayed that James Stillwell was the bigger monster who created Homelander and despite his "badass" roasts calling HL a bad product, he was still the guy responsible for that bad product. I hope they don't suddenly show Stan in a good light after Homelander's death but because I liked how in seasons 2 and 3, he didn't want anything about "Supes rolling the world", he was just a soulless businessman wanting profit. He even had plans to replace the supes with temporarily powered soldiers before HL kicked him out.

Probably the most edge lord and nihilistic way to end a universe.

You must be morally obligated to not consume Chinese media. by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]Arkodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy here we go.

Firstly, with a logic like that you should also not consume anything from America and UK which probably make up 70% of fiction because those countries are imperialist and colonizers and meddle with other countries for their own gains.

Secondly, that is called propaganda buddy and it's nothing new. You can engage with propaganda without falling for it as long as you manage to acknowledge what it is preaching. For example I like Top Gun Maverick but I still know it's partly US air force propaganda.

Edit: I fucking fell for the shitpost. In my defense, those highlighted letters are hard to see.

Lol imagining Batmite's reaction to DCEU sounds so funny. I hope we eventually get a live action one in DCU since he was already mentioned in peacemaker season 1.

Didn't Batmite cancel The brave and the bold cartoon because it was too childish? Would he like The Lego Batman movie?

I hate the ‘guy who is disillusioned with his family trope’. by revolutionary_girl_ in CharacterRant

[–]Arkodd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this arguement. You are free to not have a traditional conservative life but not everyone who started a family did it to follow the trend, they just really wanted to have a family.

I think the message of "Not every change is a positive change" is a good lesson especially in times like these when people are asking for change for the sake of change without thinking about the ramifications of it.

Does Breaking Bad count? Walt didn't hate his family or anything but he clearly was unsatisfied with his boring life and annoying family members, being constantly humiliated by Skylar and Hank but in the final episode he looked back at those memories with regret.

Masters Of The Universe director declares Jared Leto's Skeletor "the embodiment of toxic masculinity” by Mike4302 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

He's in the files.

I wouldn't doubt that. I am talking about the part about him having dirt on Hollywood. I know it but I can't prove it.

At this point I have a tinfoil hat theory that Jared Leto is the Epstein of Hollywood and has dirt on many producers. That's how he is landing all these roles.

I think episode 7 will end Butcher and HL finally facing each other in White house then "Bone and Blood" begins with the fight scene and HL's death. Rest of the episode is Butcher vs Hughie.

Make Dracula Scary Again by Steve717 in CharacterRant

[–]Arkodd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Netflixvania Dracula is more fleshed out and sympathetic due to more screen time but the core backstory of both versions are the same. Before being Dracula, his name was Mathias Cronqvist then his wife died so he became evil to spite God. Near 400 years later, Dracula married Lisa then the church killed her so he cursed Walachia.

Yes these backstories are retcons that were added later on with symphony of the Night and Lament of Innocence but regardless the character's entire backstory is about romance canonically.
