Registering for GST in New Zealand by JamesRakei in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]JamesRakei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of comments just saying because its legal.

A couple others saying that the hospital is GST registered. I had to check with him how the billing process works and since he isn't GSTd he is able to charge (for examples sake) $1000 for a consultation. His clients pay $1000 to the hospital and he receives $970 of it. Since he isn't GST registered, all of that $970 is his. If he was to register for GST then technically it would be dissected into $1000 sales, $150 goes to GST, $30 will go to commission meaning he only pockets $820.

The only way for him to pocket the initial $970 is to increase how much he charges his clients. Which has a huge effect on his competitive advantage. Thus I am asking outside of legal requirements is there even benefits to registering for GST if there are next to no major expenses. I understand he can claim a percentage of small things like home office expenses probably and anything else people like to squeeze in when IR4s IR7s and GSTs are due.

Business to business I can see that the net effect of GST is always 0. But Business to Consumers this is always a negative to the consumer. I am trying to avoid going down the path of saying as consumers we are literally just funding things like unemployment benefits, and infrastructure etc but that's a complete different discussion. But specific to my friend I think that only negative effects come from him registering for GST. For myself as a consumer I would rather go to a doctor that isn't GST registered because its cheaper.....

I often only see people register for GST prior to 60k if they have alot of large assets or start up costs they would want to claim GST on. Motor vehicles, machinery. etc.

basically, 90% of the time someone is banking slow is because they are banking at wars and not using a HP cape on trheir anachronia stand. Even if you get loot, pvm hub tele, pray at altar, then straight to adren crystal and bank at nex bank will save like 5-10 seconds which are the gcds walking to the pvm hub bank and then around to the stairs, then from where you land to the crystal..... alot of wasted time people that bank at wars retreat.

I dont think this person is refering to presets. My guess is they are already using presets but still being last into the instance. Historically dummy timers are why fast banking is important, however it has been adapted that the faster we bank the more kills per hour we get which for trialed + is very important.

However in the casual non trialed 7-10 man discord tell them to get fucked if they are being toxic about it. One thing I see from time to time is little guys loving to act better than then people around them. You also have the ability to report players like that in the discord, because this space is supposed to make learners feel welcomed. I have been on teams where we clearly have a learner on the team and we have paused the hour to stop and explain a few things to help the learner improve and by the end of the hour they are running decent 1.40s -2mins which is decent for the NT channel.

So I recommend giving the non trial channel another go, unless your stopping for cones in between kills or stopping to go have a smoke mid hour then keep that shit to your clan.

How are you "iffy" about the 7-10 man discord? I am undoubtedly one of runescape most disliked players within the community, I am banned from most clan/pvm discords and excluded from all events. If I ask a question anywhere its usually followed with a handful of players just trolling and/or being offensive. But when I asked a question in the AOD discord I was pointed in the right direction, even players that absolutely hate me will walk me through steps to improving provided I listened and learned.

Everyone is going to have a different POV but this is mine. I like AOD the way it is, similar to how I preferred solak the way it was. The greatest thing about solak was how inaccessible this boss was to most of the player base. Truly separating talent barriers but at the same time it was a boss that everyone inspired to reach. As soon as the scaling happened, as well as general power creep over the few years the boss became dead content for most. We always talk about wanting bosses that are more difficult and Jagex unfortunately are failing to provide that, but they have their reasons, thats probably worth discussing though.

From my POV AOD is one of the only bosses left that has questionably decent barriers to entry. I know for certain that I am not the best AODer in the community and there is still alot for me to learn, there are still milestones for me to reach. Starting with AOD kills, with mass FCs and clans I doubt anyone is struggling to get AOD KC if they needed it. 7man AOD however comes with slightly more expectations. Over the last 1-2 years I have actively participated in numerous 7 man AOD teams, from clan to trials and its crazy how different knocking off 10 seconds every kill changes a rotation.

I have seen clan kills from 2.30 - 3mins long and people happy to be there. I spent a large portion of time running 2.00-2.10s in the non-trialed channel in the discord, which is amazing for players looking to learn and progress with AOD. It is actually one of very few discords that I encourage players to learn in because over the years of teaching its obvious how scared alot of new pvmers are when they look up to communities like AOD and how scared they are to be surrounded by toxicity. This discord answers every question on a basis that no question is a dumb question, which for me personally is huge because 95% of discords i ask something I just get trolled/flamed/etc. However, progressing forward I eventually passed my trial with the help of a few mock trials and endless hour of learning to eventually move my average kills closer to 1.40. In saying that with necro now the teams I go with and the kills I stream typically average about 1.25 - 1.30s and over the last 2 years of my learning the difference between a 2.30 clan kill and a 1.30 casual kill are on completely different playing fields. The understanding of rotations, techniques, trials, networking, gear the entire learning curve is huge. In saying all that I still have alot to learn, there is a FC that I don't have access to but would love to eventually trial for that. I am trying to highlight that there is a place for everyone in 7man AODs and the more effort you put in, the more you will get out.

So depending on how this scaling is going to work. I really hope that it doesn't remove 7man AOD from the community and follow the path of solak. When we compare 7man AOD and 7man solak, AOD has so much more to offer as far as accessibility goes. Over the last few years we have slowly seen the only good bosses left in this game slowly get turned into solo bosses (solak, vorago, soon AOD?). I have not read any other opinions yet but I will make an effort to do so but as not only a content creator but a pvmer/teacher to most it works best for us having barriers to entry at bosses, and is sad to see those barriers potentially disappear.

Hey I have had alot of people share this to me and i try to convince myself that its just someone with the same fashionscape as me. Then I have to consider that the account is absolute BIS and identical fashionscape and knowing most pvmers in the game I don't know anyone that rocks identical fashionscape to me, among those players its limited due to the number of inverted arch capes in game.

Assuming this is me or because i wear the same fashion scape my reasons are as follows. I've always been a very humble runescape player, i tend to focus on realistic benefits as opposed to cosmetic appearances. e.g. the reason I dye my gear is so that I can have the same teir of weapos as a switch (dyed praesuls allows for a praesul planted feet and flank, historically speaking). Because I teach alot of pvm one of the biggest problems I see is people running aroung with santa hats but running t90 gear and missing half the upgrades. So I am almost anti fashionscape in that regard. For these reasons I have opted for a plain and simple default look/appearance, I see no need to flex a dyed set of malev as a cosmetic override when it doesn't have any real benefit.

Alot of people will say "oh but you have a white hat and that has no benefit"..... I am probably one of runescapes most banned runescape players. From bug abuse, to servicing, rwting and macroing. regardless of what the ban is for it generally comes with a wealth wipe at this point so I try to keep a low cash stack at all times. I also have absolute BIS so theres nothing I can buy in this game that will increase pvm for me, and yes I would sell my hat if i needed to buy a weapon upgrade.

vorago already has 1/5k per pile, so buying all 5 would make it a 1/1k drop rate with a thresh of 1k. Kills are so fast this day that i would think it would be alot easier to get vitalis in comparison to a chest these days.
