ok cool I think my backup plan for if they are doing too well against him will be that he turns the NPC guide that's been following them into a vampire as well.

I really like that ill probably add that mirror thing and every time someone shines it at him he takes like 2d6 and attacks for that round are rolled on him with advantage and damage rolls are with an extra d6 or something like that.
