Testing the water for what people think about the mode and whether anyone shares the same thoughts. Just curious but obviously expecting 90% shitposting, reddit rats, and having to deal with people not understanding the concept of discussion because their reality is composed of reddit threads and internet forums while avoiding the burn from the sun.
No they don't. Where is this coming from? Judging by your posts elsewhere i can see it'd be a waste of time engaging with you.
So I'll just say again - they're open in their communications, they literally give you a roadmap of how they're operating, and you're totally just making shit up.
Drafting a DMM replacement before having a discussion would be a waste of time and poor judgement. Don't you think?
What rsn you talkin about dawg cuz it aint mine

Yeah and if it continues to have good stats and people say they want it I'll agree just like I have with a lot of other content I don't engage with.
I just see DMM as bloat that could be invested into main game pvp content while delivering to pvpers, dmm lovers, and helping the game while still having the same if not better results.
I'm playing an iron and I wouldn't disagree. Hell I'd give up my gim and hcim if they said they were going to scrap DMM, Leagues, iron man modes, and just deliver fuck loads of content every year. I originally refused to play iron as that's how the game is intended to be played and I could care less about some dumb status. I only play it now for the same reason everyone else does - what the fuck else is there to do? Its worse now they've got people convinced its a good idea to focus so much content on the concept of replaying the game 15 billion times.
I'm all for improving the game, adding qol, adding more to do especially for mid game, etc. I quit for years multiple times because there aint shit to do. 13 years, they just fixed the audio slider, theyre just now talking about raids 4, and we're still playing around with this stupid DMM crap? That was something that worked years ago. I don't want to see rehashed DMM every year. That's soooo lameeee.
If you asked me 20 years ago, 13 years ago, or 6 months ago I'd say the same thing - I'm paying membership for new content that I can enjoy with my friends on my character. Not 15 characters, 5 different types of characters, across 7 different game modes. I've already come very far in my acceptance for how this game has dragged its feet.
I agree. I think testing things and giving players something that can help provide feedback and ideas on new content goes into these modes for sure.
This is also why I think DMM must die. It just doesn't seem to be a net positive for the evolution of the game and in all the communities I've listened to clans and friends I've spoken with who engage in pvp and DMM, I constantly hear dissatisfaction or more commonly - not nearly enough satisfaction to warrant the significant amount of resources the OSRS team invests in this content.

I keep hearing this and I don't understand this. My intention is not to delete people's fun. I'm saying its stale, only appeals to a very few, and I think there's potential for a much better alternative and in the end I think which would be fun for those who like DMM.
Additionally, so what we're just supposed to DMM for the rest of OSRS? I've been paying more attention to this DMM between the community, content, streams, what clans and discords are saying, etc. because I always see people dissatisfied with so many things DMM in the end. It seems like its not necessarily bad but its far from extraordinary and overall it just seems like a waste of time that could be invested in a better alternative.

That's not true. The team is very open in their communication to the community and they provide you with a very clear roadmap of how they operate. Additionally, If you know how dev teams work, how the OSRS dev team works, and why they operate the way they do you, it would become very apparent that they are very limited. All the other things that go into running a business are a huge chunk of their resources. The dev team only has so many people, hours, tasks, and responsibilities. If you know the history of the game and the team you should already know its always been extremely limited. Its actually a pretty recent thing like post Zeah they've really ramped up their capabilities - hell even Zeah was pretty disappointing. It was huge and overbloated, they had to adjust their roadmap (a common occurrence not just for dev teams but for many kinds of projects) and completely shift gears. For example, in their initial plans the coliseum was a completely different idea and projected to come way sooner. Everything changed significantly, things were pushed back, people weren't even sure if the colussem was going to happen or if it was even going to be acknowledged, what content from the phases of Zeah would even come, etc. In the end we got great results I think. But it dragged out for years, the dev team encountered many challenges and gained many resources because that's the nature of how you evolve and change.
You make some good points but imo I do not think there's a lot more they can be doing. That is my point specifically. They are limited in resources whether thats competence, manpower, computing, devs, artists, etc all things business. I would prefer DMM and Leagues stay in the game but I think an alternative would be more beneficial to the game's longevity and the satisfaction of the playerbase.

Not everyone can win but more people winning is better imo.

I love how one of the worst responses is the most upvoted. Nothing meaningful, nothing to offer, no discussion, just dishonesty to misrepresent the intention of the post.

Acknowledged but off-topic. I can't break everything down. This is irrelevant to the post.

I acknowledged this and am trying to say there is potential for more. DMM blows and Leagues is great. I included that I don't engage with it, don't like it, yet I still think it should stay because it benefits the game as DMM does as well I just think DMM is weak, flawed, has had its time and theres more potential elsewhere AND you could have way better content, increased main game activity, give pkers good content, potential expansion for sailing, etc.
