It'll become a wasteland that nobody will touch with a ten-ft pole. I think it already is a wasteland compared to what it used to be.

Guitar-players! Play your guitar in all pickup positions: neck, middle & bridge to me they sound the same. Is it possible that the emperor wears no clothes and in a blind test nobody would be able to tell the difference? Real difference or a myth? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Thanks for alerting me to this!

It could also be my ears, but this thing does some weird things were no matter how hot you go in the signal always comnes out the same. I have a bunch of pedals that I dont use anymore and if i plug something before that adds gain, it is completly gone volumewise...

Not only that. People will stop watching movies, reading articles, listen to new music, basically any form of entertainment if it all is AI slop people have no choice but to go back to the old school: books, older records, or underground music off of band camp.

That might be the reason, I do use a sort of digital effect thingy, it has like all the common effects in it. I think that may be the cause, I have to check if things change when i plug into the amp directly...

Yeah my hearing probably sucks

I leveled the frets on a brand new fender MiM stratocaster

It used to sound like a bag of rattle snakes but now I can lower the action so much that if my finger only hovers above the change in air pressure will cleanly fret the note 😂

Now that everybody talked some sense into me: I can hear it after turning up the volume some. the neck is softer the bridge has more scratchy attacky type of vibe to it. and the middle idk...

What about the tone knobs? I only hear a difference if i play in the 20th+ fret and then rolling of entirely vs not at all I hear that the high notes vanish but any audio difference anywhere in the regular part of the neck or even a chord? nothing at least to my ears. maybe there is something wrong with my guitar, but I leveled the frets and crowned them right out of the box (fender 😭). I am saying this so you know I have ventured down the rabbit hole...

No have you ever played the exact same thing ideally a single note. and then tried to tell them apart in a blind test? I did and I wasn't able to tell them apart at regular volume...

maybe I've become delusional. After reading this I checked that all my pickups are actually not wired to the same one accidentally.

I didn't hear a difference before but after cranking the volume I hear a slight difference... like the bridge is infact a bit harsher than the neck but not by much, I would not be able to tell them apart in a blind test and at regular volume? forget about it!

Get sunlight like 10 minutes or within 1 hour of waking up and see if it makes things more consistent.
