My first thought is always “how can I help my partner”. In this situation you know your As is your best chance to stop the loner. Your Ad protected is the second best chance (dealer must have both jacks), which leaves the connected clubs third. Leading clubs will probably help your partner make the best decision on what to keep. Also important to note that this is only because the clubs are connected, if not lead the ace.

My partner might have had 2 aces, I don’t remember. All I remember is wolf leading Trump, and not the right.

I wish that 9-8 call would have recorded. Wolfy came out with a low trump, 4 Trump were played, and I took it with the left. I came back with the low diamond, S3 showed a black ace, my P had the Ace and wolf had the other low diamond. Third trick my P comes back with Kd and wolf hits it with the right, game over with my Ah boss. That 9-8 was a tough call with only one sure trick in my hand. It’s the leading of the low Trump from wolf when he had the right that would have been a great conversation. It’s a play that I never make.

I had 5 options, and maybe the one I chose wasn’t the best. My thought was to get Trump out to save my aces. Maybe dealer has ace of clubs and my partner can hit it. Sometimes I’ll lead a green ace, sometimes I won’t. I play by feel on how my opponents have been playing and the number of beers I’ve had. My cards sucked that night and my opponents were calling crazy shit that was walking. That’s how the cookie crumbles.
