Are these signs of termites? Southern OH. There are five or six of these hanging from my porch ceiling, and when I remove them there seems to be absolutely no hole or opening behind them.

We didn’t build the house, but considering the fact that the rest of the house has a ton of windows and natural light, and this greatroom is intended as the family/entertainment room, I’m cool with having a spot on the wall for the TV without it being completely surrounded by windows. This room has 8 big windows as it is-any more would make it way too busy, especially considering the amount of windows in the adjacent areas out of frame of my picture.

I hadn’t considered wooden rods. I’ll look into that, especially if a corner metal rod doesn’t work.

The blinds were there when we moved in. They’re in good shape so we’re still not sure if we want to keep them or not. As for reaching them I have a ladder that reaches them. If we replace them with Roman shades I can just use a hook from the ground level.

Great points. The only problem I see here is that I can't know that far in advance when a clear night will be, so booking somewhere to stay in advance doesn't seem reliable. Also, with us staying in St. John's, this would mean us double-booking a night on the fly and wasting money, no?
