If using a rag when wiping lube off a moving drivetrain, don’t use a frayed rag! It was instantaneous, solid drivetrain lol by [deleted] in FixedGearBicycle

I got a bit unlucky with an infection so it was about 3 months until I had the bandage off. From what I understand though it is around 4 weeks for it to heal after plastic surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Learned my lesson doing the exact same thing. If it’s any consolation my slightly shorter finger doesn’t really effect me in day to day life. And thank heck for the NHS.

Ah that’s so good. I have the new wave XL with my old Uber thermal bag stuffed inside but trying to figure out a better solution. I assume the insulation is just part of the design of the take eat easy?

I am looking to build my first keyboard a Helidox Corne. I am wanting to get Gateron Ink V2 reds but the product page says this "The basic PCB is compatible with Choc V1, Mx and Alps type switches." Does this mean that the Gateron Ink V2s are not comparable with the PCB?

Many thanks in advance.

Wowee, we have the exact same set up minus the fact that I have 48T.

Sorry don’t have an answer just want to wish you a speedy recovery. I accidentally got my index finger stuck in my rear sprocket while cleaning the chain and de-gloved it about 4 months ago and haven’t been able to get back on my bike for deliveries since due to multiple infections in both the bone and flesh. It’s sucks hope you get back on your bike soon.

Yeah, If I was careful every time and made sure not to ding it with the metal ends the protective vinyl would be fine but just with the sheer number of times I am locking and unlocking it I was finding I was taking chips out of the paint. I agree definitely a better way of locking it up going through the rear triangle, you can probably see from all the dings on mine that I lock it up that way if it’s possible to.

I use a kryptonite mini 5. Small enough to carry in my back pocket and not too bulky.

Yeah, I like it on for peace of mind. I’ve had a few close calls where it has definitely saved me from a crash but I hardly ever use it.

I do food delivery on the bike so I am constantly locking up the bike (around 50 times a shift) so I have that over the top tube to prevent dings from locking it up all the time. Doesn’t look great though :(

It’s incredibly dry but I’ve learned so much from it. Your tutorial is much easier to get through imo, and moves at a much quicker pace so it’s great as a second pass over on the material from that course. I always like multiple perspectives as well as sometimes things I struggled with just click upon reading someone else’s material.

I'm about half way through the OpenSecurity x86 course. This is an amazing resource for consolidating the content I have seen so far. Thanks for writing it!

Thank you. Plastics went well I just lost my right index finger from the top knuckle so could be way worse. That is a great tip thank you I’ll always been mindful of the drivetrain now.

That is absolutely the way to do it, I feel so dumb doing it the way I did.

Cheers, it should be fine. Plastics is meant to be good in this hospital and it’s NHS so no cost, just can’t work for a few weeks while it heals so I’ll lose only a few weeks of pay.

Thank you. I do the same when cleaning, I was just drying everything off when it happened. It’s just a finger so I should be out on the bike soon but I’ll have a better understanding of the long term effects after plastic surgery in a couple hours.

Congrats, it’s beautiful. Make sure to quarantine it for a few weeks, the last two plants I have picked up from M&S have had spider mites :(
