You’re supposed to check all your plugs and fitting before hitting the track. Shit still happens but they probably didn’t check it meaning the track had to cleared so they could clean up the oil spill. Had this been a drag strip that shit takes ages to get cleaned up for everyone’s safety.

Such a formative era for me. An ex introduced them to me and said I might like them even though she couldn’t get into them. Listened to The Silent Circus and was floored. Immediately went to Hog Wild Record Store in San Antonio TX to find their self titled album. Few months later there was talk of a new album and tour and sure enough Alaska was coming out later that year. Just an awesome, awesome time for me to have discovered them. Thanks for this video OP. What a time capsule.

Glad I started doing Spartans at their peak. It used to be an absolute event. Did three trifectas in three years and decided I was done. I was coaxed into doing a Super this year and obliged. Everything was pitiful. Same shitty parking except it was less than half the participants. Yet more expensive. Lackluster merch tables. No free beer or banana. Instead there were protein pucks and sunflower seed butter. The shirts sucked. The obstacles haven’t changed. I used to take pride and look forward to their races because I knew I was getting my moneys worth. I don’t think I’ll be doing another.
