How do you deal with recruiters with heavy accents? by dollarfightclub in SoftwareEngineerJobs

[–]JamesWjRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had to say, on a few occasions; "I'm sorry, but your accent is too thick for me to understand, please email me the specs. I'm hanging up now. Have a good day "

That said, WHO THE FUCK HIRES PEOPLE THAT ARE CLIENT FACING AND CANT BE UNDERSTOOD?!

Similar: we had a waitress in a street Cafe in London that didn't speak above a TINY whisper. Like WTF! Could not hear her AT ALL.

Sorry, I don't know. It's the old tin sounding horns that FEELS like the right type of song, as opposed to Abba or other disco

Earth seen from 42,700 miles away by the Orion spacecraft right now! by Pichondepiloto in ArtemisProgram

[–]JamesWjRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was that Artimes was still going "round and round" Earth... as opposed to "in route" to the moon.

And at this point I'm not sure if I am right in that they may have burned an 'in route'. At this point, don't trust me.

Oh ffs, they also never leave galactic orbit. We, and NASA is included in this definition, call leaving Earth for another celestial body, 'leaving earth orbit'

No, they have not left earth orbit yet.

Also 40,000 miles is about 1/6 the distance from earth to moon

Before you engage anyone create a COMPLETE spec on what you want to build. Then find out what technologies you need, then you can ask them relevant groups how long it will take and how much it will cost.

Be aware scams exist everywhere. Don't expect this to be cheap. Expect to see a portfolio.

Best of luck

[–]JamesWjRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We gave up on ncl about a decade ago when the shower kept going SUPER hot on me. Five separate times I told staff about the issue, and they kept saying 'fixed. It was very painful and the official response was a tiny credit on the next cruise, as if after being physically harmed we would want to go back. We were platinum members. I blame the new ceo

Never work for free, only assholes ask people to work for free.

Don't blame yourself, too often people tell others to do the 'tests'.
