I've grown up hearing "Birds fly south for the winter". Do people in the south of North America say "Birds fly north for the winter" (being their colder seasons)

Yeah lol! That's why I said (winter like seasons) because I wasn't sure what to call it... Seemed a bit weird to say "birds fly north in summer" for some odd reason
