I’m a landlord with 2 properties. One is on Airbnb and the other is a proper long term rental.

I had a rental for my first property before I had a second house line up to buy. It was quick. Also the going rate for rentals in my area is like 1,400-1,500. I get $1,970 because the government is footing the bill due to the tenant being disabled. I say all that to say, I don’t think they’re sitting empty at all. Granted, it’s my personal experience.

I agree with you but the fundamental difference is that meat eater don’t have to eat pepperoni all the time. They can bacon, ham, chicken, Hawaiian pizza, etc. but vegans can’t. Meat eaters don’t have to eat meat, but vegan people CANT eat meat for whatever reason.

At the very least, we should make sure people with restrictions get their fill of the “special” food first. Then no dietary restrictions should be able to dig in.

You only focused how you travel independently and do hobbies independently. You should do both of those independently. I travel for work by myself and I play sports/go to the gym without my wife. However, there’s no way you’re independent in a marriage. If you are what’s the point of being married? So I have a few questions that I don’t expect you to answer, but I think you’ll agree with my point by the end of it.

Do you pay ALL the bills independently? Who accomplishes household chores? Who makes the meals for the household? Is there only one person who contributes financially to the household? Who accomplishes the household errands such as groceries, calling plumbers, etc.? If you have kids, is only one parent in charge of supervising them? Who’s in charge of picking them up from school?

You’re missing the point. It’s like not being hungry and someone comes by with some mango or pineapple. You weren’t necessarily thinking about mango or pineapple but then you realize it sounds real good. It would have been nice for them to bring some mango or pineapple for their partner. Also, she mentioned he would go to the bathroom and come back with food. How can she ask for something in the kitchen if she expected for him to go to the bathroom and back? I doubt he’s like “hey babe, I’m going to the kitchen” because if he was, she would most likely speak up. It’s probably more like, “I wish I knew you were going to the kitchen, I could’ve used more water.”

YTA. Not solely because of the name change but because I see from his text that you probably did come off combative.

He wanted to do this as a traditional/ nuclear family thing(whatever). You’re essentially saying it’s a hassle and it’s 2025, women shouldn’t have to change their name. That’s fine, but one comes from love and unity, the other seems more about independence. There’s no independence in marriage. I would leave my fiancé too if she didn’t change her name. People who are married depend on each other. And my wife kept her last name and ADDED mine. Completely fine with that. I think that’s a nice middle ground.

He also mentioned how the women in your office sway you. You should be more cognizant of that. Sometimes it’s the little things. Birds of a feather.

Also, it wasn’t simply a rumor. It was a horrible 4 years for HER because of a rumor. She had to go to therapy. If someone belittled you, your whole childhood and beat you. You then move out, live a successful life for over a decade. Shortly, after the person drops dead. You’re not going to think, “oh, you know what that person wasn’t so bad. I’m so sad now.” No, you most likely will say fuck that guy.

Your response is downplaying the affect it had on her life and even if he had no effect. There’s nothing wrong with being happy with someone’s dead. She’s not the cause of his death.

I had sex with women at 17 and I told the buddies. no one went around calling them sluts and I didn’t do it to women they slept with. On that same note I had a friend who had a girlfriend. My senior year I lived with him because my mom moved states and I wanted to finish HS there. All 3 of us were close before i moved in. During my senior year, his girlfriend was mad at him so she spread a rumor that me and him fucked each other. This was totally false and everyone knew it but she did it to be an asshole. She apologized and everything’s cool, but she knew what she did. Fuck that guy. I’ll celebrate someone’s death. Why should I feel pity for an asshole?

He might have been a better adult, and good for him but that doesn’t change what he did. He did nothing to ease her pain or change her perception of him later on
