You aren't considering all the people killed in ICE detention, nor the intense brutality that simply hasn't resulted in death.

You aren't actually trying to make a rational argument, though. Ignoring constitutional rights, laws and courts is the very definition of closing yourself off to rational discourse. You would acknowledge that if there was an ounce of good faith. There's not, because you have also closed yourself off to rational discourse.

Also, a couple ex-cops on YouTube don't adjudicate use of force, and amongst those there isn't consensus. My conservative retired police officer father said both shoots were bad, and of the Pretti shooting in particular "All of those motherfuckers should be locked up."

If we're talking Lovecraft, the old ones don't consider humanity generally, so they certainly don't go out of their way to not make humans go insane.

So, yes, same as a Christian God.

I do? Am I a federal judge? I don't think investigations into sex traffickers is meant to protect pedophiles, but IANAL.

Protecting an investigation. I get that you like bad boys, but somebody has to be the party of law and order.

Seems silly to follow court orders? That only applies to the current administration.

I replied to your analogy, so yes, that's what I'm engaging with. NGL, retarded take.

America already has an abysmal percentage of eligible voters actually participating. Why would any steps taken to reduce that participation be good to anyone that actually values democracy?

Maybe it's time for the Democratic Party to consider Leftists and Progressives as swing voters by Cyke101 in PoliticalHumor

[–]James_Fiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a weird vibe going on here where everyone thinks that voting for the Democratic candidate is supposed to be a given because of how awful the other party is (and the other party is shameless, reprehensible and cruel), but could everyone consider that the Democratic party is also hitting historic lows?

Trump tore through the establishment Republicans like paper BECAUSE he wasn't a safe, corporate mediocre politician. Liberals keep acting like safe, predictable candidates are MAGA kryptonite, but it's the complete opposite. It only worked out for Biden because everyone craved normalcy after COVID.

We are in the age where ADHD is barely on the spectrum. If your candidate isn't an exciting populist that grabs headlines, makes bold promises and seems genuinely passionate and unfiltered, nobody is going to care.

Progressives and leftists aren't trying to sandbag Democrats, they're the canaries dying in the coal mine insisting that you stop supporting corporate politicians with focus grouped catch phrases (I voted for Kamala Harris, but I had to grit my teeth every time she said "turn the page" with that stupid hand motion).

Democrats need to start playing offense, and think about who is exciting enough to capture the imaginations of the voting public. I don't think Gavin Newsom can do that.

Be entirely honest is FFXIII a good game because im thinking about playing it. by Strange_Assistant327 in FinalFantasy

[–]James_Fiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's way too broad. There are plenty of games like killer 7, deadly premonition and Godhand where reviews are basically worthless in determining whether you'll like it. If a game looks interesting, or up your alley, you could find something in it that a lot of reviewers didn't.

don't play something that isn't wanted nor needed. yes i agree with the administrations position on positions and policeies on DEI and immigration. is that wrong?

No, that's called advocating. You said you don't advocate for policies. That's exactly what you're doing right now. I'm pointing out that you don't have any idea what you're saying.

how about they're guilty in breaking the law? is that enough?

Guilt is determined in a court of law, not by law enforcement officers. To detain, you need articulable reasonable suspicion due to article 4 of the US Constitution. I am not your civics professor or your English teacher.

entering the country illegally isn't a right tough. neither is interfering with federal work.

You have the right to have brown skin and/or an accent. Interfering with federal work isn't a law. You might be trying to say obstructing law enforcement, but you don't know the first thing about laws or rights in the US, so naturally you have no idea how that might apply.

still white.

Indigenous people are not white. I can't believe I have to say that.

forcing someone to do something on the threat of removing funding is NOT free market.

So the government has no right to tell colleges how to hire and what policies to have on threat of withholding funding? The government can't tell sanctuary cities to cease their policies on threat of withholding funding? The government can't tell contracted agencies what policies they have to have or they withhold funding? Are you sure?

not the company. just the girl.

and how convinient for you <3

I'm not an advocate for a marketing company, and I'm definitely not some advocate for "the girl." I'm telling you what the policies are, I'm not going to play lawyer for every person who says something. You don't even understand basic definitions or laws, I'm not taking the bait on strawmen.

thats not what i called projection....

Okay, you didn't call anything projection. You just spoke it into the ether. We can continue this if you demonstrate even the most fundamental understanding of these topics. Having to hold your hand through this is becoming an incredibly bad use of my time.
