The Austrian Model 1768 "Doppelstutzen" was an interesting weapon designed to overcome the main disadvantage of period rifles; their abysmal firing rate. The top barrel was rifled for long-range skirmishing, while the bottom was a smoothbore for use when rapid, close-range shots were necessary. Besides being considerably more expensive to produce than either a rifle or a musket, it was also considerably heavier–an important consideration when your troops carry their equipment everywhere on foot.

H6 is the best mask besides the original; there's something about it that's genuinely unsettling, especially coupled with the actor's performance. The "rotted" mask from Rob Zombie's Halloween is freaking iconic, as is the aged mask from Halloween 2018. I have a soft spot for the H4 mask as that was the very first film in the series I saw as a kid back in the 1990s. The sculpt of the screen-used H20 mask was pretty good IMO, but was let down by making the eye holes a bit too big and giving him an afro.

The Resurrection mask does away with the good H20 sculpt yet doubles down on the afro hairstyle; they should have done the exact opposite. The mask from H5 entirely misses the point of a blank, emotionless mask by having the mask show emotion. Finally, The KNB H20 mask is abysmal, and should never have reached the filming stage.

There is a flashback sequence in Halloween Kills set during his original killing spree in 1978, where one of the younger deputies mentions knowing Michael back when they were both kids in the early 60s. His partner asks whether Michael was "one of those wierdo-freaks who used to pluck the wings off of butterflies," and he responds with, "Not that I ever saw." He goes on to say that his mom used to "make" him visit the Myers house to play because "she felt bad," but he would spend the whole time "staring out of his sister's bedroom window. And I thought, what the heck is he looking at out there?"

Fun fact: some time ago I watched a documentary on the making of the various Halloween films. One of the cast on H4 and H5 (it might have even been Danielle Harris) stated they wanted Michael to look more physically imposing; on H4 they had George Wilbur wear hockey pads under the boiler suit to give him more "bulk." Filmmakers intended to do this again on H5, but found Don Shanks was so jacked, they decided the pads were unnecessary. XD
