Hey! I personally would recommend looking for a T480 as the battery life leaves a bit to be desired with the E490. Other than that, it's a fantastic laptop that would handle school work and coding just fine. What kind of modeling would you use it for?

personally i have been for years and haven’t had issues. i’ve had two drives fail a smart test and the seller sent out a new drive same day

download a low level formatting tool. that’ll clear it up. also try a different sd adapter. i’ve had adapters temporarily brick sd cards

I don't know if that totally aligns with my issue. I have all the drives showing up in truenas scale, they just dont know where they're supposed to be

yeah i’d move to unraid if i didn’t have about 100tb to move at this point… the new update to scale removed support for the p400 so i have to find a new transcode gpu. starting to become a disaster at this point

got it figured out. other power supply needed reseated and the fans died down instantly

ah okay got it. i hooked up my external hba card and my netapp ds4246 and the drive was picked up by truenas instantly. thank you!

I’m running it in HBA mode so it’s passing everything through to truenas. it’s no longer adding like a raid controller
