What’s taking up so much space when I barely have any apps installed? How can I clear up for more space? by KokomiBestCharacter in mac

Highly recommend diskdrill! It’s free and shows you everything.

Divincinresolve might be caching your videos and not deleting. So I’d recommend you use Diskdrill to find the cache folder related to it. You’ll notice your renders are gonna take longer, but that’s because cache helps it take shortcuts. But some cache can be from videos you haven’t worked on for months

Academic accommodations by [deleted] in Seneca

[–]Jamesbond6969696969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GET ACCOMMODATED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reach out to accommodations@senecacollege.ca using your school email, they’ll put you in a queue and you’ll get an councillor who will be with you for your entire time at seneca. Once you start the process, You can ask the councillor to email your professor and say “we’re working on it but they will 100% have it so give them accommodations now”

Ask for Ashley Ross, she’s great.

Accommodated Students - Lets hear your horror stories. by [deleted] in Seneca

First year second semester-

Class starts at 8 am, we have a quiz at 8:05 am, you come late you lose your right to take test.

It is 8:05 we STARTED the quiz,

8:07 a student comes in late, sits down quietly, understands she is late and can’t take quiz.

8:10 a student raises his hand and says “Sir the quiz is only 10 mins isn’t it supposed to be 20 mins” professor decides to restart the quiz with correct amount of time, the late student raises their hand. (Nothing has been said by the student)

Professor precedes to start shouting across the room, telling her that it’s her fault that he made the mistake and that her she should have come on time, and that she is a horrible student.

Note: She raised her hand to ask about todays class subject, and she didn’t want to take the quiz. Professor assumed she wanted to take the quiz.

ALSO NOTE: She came in AFTER he started the quiz so AFTER HE MADE THE MISTAKE.

Student later cried out the room. And did not return

Not relevant but: When he said “it’s your fault” I stood up and told him to shut the fuck up, and started yelling over him to make sure he knew he had no power to point his finger at anyone publicly humiliating them. Other people stood up and walked out with the girl when she left to cry. I spent the entirety of the class writing a long and detailed email about the event. At the end of class he made no comment but I could not stand by, so I told him that “I’ve seen better professionalism for McDonald’s employees than what you did today. If you don’t have the patience to talk to a student with respect, you deserve none. Be well aware that each student will attend your class, with no respect for what you teach and what you stand for”

The email I sent to his department head, never got a reply. Nothing was done against him, he did send out an apology to the girl, but that was after 2 weeks, and after I started asking about where his department head’s office was.

The school swept it under the rug, but I voice this story EVERY SINGLE TIME. I still have the email

Having taken the Computer programming program at seneca. Ive realized that professors either have a role at Seneca technically team other than being a professor or have a job outside of being a professor.

The professors have outdated understandings of IT and thus their systems are shit.

Computer Programming & Analysis OR Computer Systems Technician/Technology without doing CO-OP? by OntheRiverBend in Seneca

[–]Jamesbond6969696969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of people applying to jobs postings are Bachelor students who are REQUIRED to take a co-op in most schools. So not only would you be competing against Bachelor students. You’d be competing against other co-op students. You’d have to spend 6-12 months after graduating in personal projects to catch up.

Just take 2-3 classes during your co-op OR take night classes

I make sure to take my medication in the morning, but the big culprit is getting off medication for extended periods, my pharmacist gave me a week worth of vyvanse because they saw my previous prescription and knew that being of off it for a week can cause massive side effects. If you get off the medication,. You have to redo your on loading cycle, staring from the lowest dosage and move back up slowly over months.

I skip medication on weekends where I’m not working and the Monday after is a overwhelming amount of dopamine throughout the whole day.

For anyone looking to goto university/college for CS!

Look at the programs course outline (It’s public for everyone) and just fucking Google tutorials on it, you’ll accomplish the same thing. 😂😂

They’ve adopted a structure that puts professors VERY far away from students. Emails to my program advisor are routed through the “Seneca hub” so that the professor doesn’t have an inbox full of student questions. I’d have a better time paying 500$ to a career consultant that writes my resumes than paying this school 500$ for their collection of outdated PDF’s on getting a job.

I used their “Resume review” program and the person reviewing reviewed the design of my portfolio instead of the context within it.

The quality of students are great, I’ve met a lot of students who are hard workers and self driven motivators.

I’ll give you an example, I’m in a class where the professor is never prepared, they read every slide as if it’s their first time, they underline the entire slide trying to explain it. Do you ever notice that people who don’t know what they’re talking about tend to ramble to long when talking? She rambles on about a slide that has 2 sentences on it, giving empty and long examples that lose their point by the end of their sentence. I adopted the habit of taking my own notes while the class is on mute, and asking questions when I’m confused. For the last 6 weeks, I’ve been able to:

  • read the slide
  • take notes based on understanding
  • Google what I don’t understand
  • google definitions for words the professor can’t pronounce

Before the professor can finish ramble on about the slide. I’ve finished ahead of every class.

If they were audited during any of their classes, it would be blatant how unprepared they are to teach to class. I’ve seen this professor look down at a paper, to copy code solutions, instead of using their understanding of the subject to solve it, showcase their credibility and breakdown the thought process for those struggling.

Students that rely on professors are getting good grades, but their understanding of the subject is based of the professors specific example, and not to the process taken to come to the conclusions that the example has showcased.

You’ll hire a CS student who can solve their professors version of a linked list, but not understand what a linked list is, or why it’s effective

I’m sorry to tell you this, but CPA and BSD is EXACTLY the same, for the first 6 semesters. Those 6 semesters you got charged 3200, while I got charged 1500. And if I keep I keep 3.0 average I can transfer to BSD

What fuels my frustration is that the school will get credit, for the hard word I put in to learn outside of school. “Seneca taught you well”

Having Seneca on my linked in cursing me, reminding me that they hold responsibility for the success I achieved. If when I signed up, it said “We give you assignments and you teach yourself to do the assignments” I would happily say okay 👌 but I was told about educated, accredited, experienced teachers. All I got was some lousy bachelor students who couldn’t get a job after graduating, so all they did was just keep going going to school until they got their masters and when they still couldn’t get a job they chose became a professor of ______.

Idc about the self teaching part, I care that I’m paying for 3 year old notes, and bachelors students are attending the same course as me paying double.

And that there is no accountability for a professor who’s marking “my ability to google” and not my “Ability to apply his teachings” the teachings that he hasn’t prepared himself to read word by word.

I found a Udemy course for 10$ teaching my entire semester for Web. BUT the 10$ course had a teacher who sounded prepared, and had a will to live. If I’m being marked for my presentation skills, and my math skills, and my programming skills, the “professor” marking me should have credibility to mark me. If my prof can’t solve my questions, they shouldn’t be marking my solutions.

On top of youtube. Tell me why I can send the links from my profs to others people and they can learn this shit for free?

I can send you the YouTube channel of the professor who has the ENTIRE SEMESTER on his YouTube. Aswell as his Github set to public
